Last night while visiting the Veterans Home, Dad wheeled me into one of my favorite rooms. His eyes lit up, but suddenly he became choked up and had tears rolling down his cheeks. He looked at my brace and said “I can’t help it, seeing Cole like this makes my heart hurt so bad.” I noticed that Dad turned around quickly to fight back tears of his own. We all sat in silence for a few moments as the veteran so gently rubbed my head. This is why I will fight to come back stronger than ever. I haven’t seen my veterans in weeks and to see them light up when I rolled into the rooms reminds us of what I truly mean to them. To see this man, a Vietnam veteran and true hero, with weeping eyes was a surreal and powerful moment. This is why my whole team does what we do.

Hazel was found as a stray running with her male pal. The shelter knew who the owner was due to this not being the first time they were running loose. Their owner surrendered them. Hazel's friend lost his life, we didn't want the same fate for Hazel.

I pick her up tomorrow. She is 3, she is heartworm positive and she has mange. Please help us help Hazel. Hazel will be our last rescue for 2024.

Please help us continue to help the dogs others overlook and they end up dying.

The rescue paypal is [email protected]. Or you may go through the webpage. believeinbuster.org

We are in desperate need of monthly supporters $5.00, $10.00....per month is the lifeline for the rescue. Please help us.

$5 Fridays with Furriends!!

Friends are there when you need them. They lend a hand and provide a level of support we all rely on. Our furry pals are no different. Their lives are enriched when so much is provided. We don’t think about the loads and loads of laundry, the treats we love to give, the kibble that’s such a necessity, and the levels of care we pray they all have.

Some wait just a short time for their furrever home and others hold on for years until just the right family surfaces.

Every single donation makes this dream a reality. It takes us all to meet all these needs. Thank you for always remembering us!!!
Hearts of Gold Pit Rescue is a 501c3 approved non-profit. Every penny donated goes to providing care to our rescue dogs. NO ONE GETS PAID!! EVER!!!

If you want to help our rescue, we accept paypal, Venmo, CashApp, or check.

Brachycephalic dogs, which have short, flat noses and elongated skulls (like Bulldogs, Pugs, and Shih Tzus), are at risk of heat-related issues because their anatomy makes it harder for them to cool down. They have less efficient respiratory systems and struggle with effective panting, which is their primary method of heat dissipation. In hot weather, they are more susceptible to overheating, heatstroke, and respiratory distress. To keep them safe, it's best to avoid walks during hot weather and ensure they stay cool with plenty of water and shade.
