Back in the late 90s, as a young sales executive in the luxury footwear market, I got an unexpected opportunity that re-shaped my career. Tasked with mentoring , the daughter of a renowned Italian shoe designer, little did I know it would be the beginning of a 30+ year journey of friendship and collaboration.

Together we introduced the Rene Caovilla collection to the US market. Our first season was in NYC from a small rented room at The Plaza Hotel, waiting for buyers to visit us. Today the brand has a worldwide presence and a cult-like following.

The true essence of Rene Caovilla’s success? A family operated business that blends immense talent with visionary design with at the helm. I couldn’t be more proud of this woman as a business person and a friend.

I was thrilled to join Giorgia for the 50 year retrospective of the iconic “Cleo” style in Los Angeles, a testament to the brand’s enduring relevance, this event at the iconic Château Marmont was an impressive mix of influencers, stylists and celebrities.
