Adrenal fatigue is more common than you may think. However, before I explain more, you may be asking yourself, “What are the adrenals?” They are glands that look like pointed hats or a triangle with a roundish top. There are two of them, and they sit on top of each of your kidneys.
The adrenal glands are responsible for making cortisol, aldosterone, and androgens (DHEA and testosterone). All are produced in the cortex part of the adrenals. In the adrenal medulla part of the adrenals, adrenaline, noradrenaline and small amounts of dopamine are produced.
The adrenal glands are also responsible for the following:
• Stress response
• Metabolism
• Blood sugar levels
• Blood pressure
• The balancing of salt and water
• Sexual development both before & during puberty
• Balancing of s*x hormones (including estrogen & testosterone)
Some symptoms of adrenal dysfunction are (though you don’t need to have every symptom):
• Fatigue or weakness
• Unexplained weight loss
• Loss of appetite
• Nausea or vomiting
• Depression
• Diarrhea
• Dizziness or fainting when standing from a seated or lying position
• Joint pain
• Either high or low blood pressure
• Low glucose in blood
• Irregular or absent menstrual periods (not related to menopause)
• Craving of salt or salty foods
• Darkening of the skin, especially on scars, lips, skin folds, and joints

Cold & Flu Prevention Tips
Cold and flu season is here, and now’s the time to be prepared.
Everyone at some point in their life has come down with either a cold or flu. And, when this happens, these illnesses can cause most people to feel miserable, as well as to miss significant amounts of time from work, school, loved ones, etc.
However, there always seem to be people we know who appear to be immune to these viruses, even though everyone else is getting sick around them. You may hear people say something like “that person’s constitution is strong,” and “they have good genes,” “that’s why they don’t get sick.” Does that mean some of us are just doomed to become ill during cold or flu season because we don’t have “good genes?” The answer is NO! Fortunately, there are very simple and cost effective ways to help strengthen your own constitution and immune system so you can help prevent and effectively fight off these viruses in the event you do become ill.
The following may help prevent colds and flus, as well as reduce the severity and duration of their effects (symptoms) if you happen to become infected:

Vitamin D is one of the most powerful, yet overlooked vitamins.
Deficiency in this vitamin can be associated with a number of health issues, including, but not limited to, osteoporosis,
immune dysfunction (especially with multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune disorders), frequent sickness (especially viral), depression, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, certain cancers, poor skin health, weight loss difficulty, and more.
Yearly testing for one's Vitamin D level is a good way to help prevent becoming deficient. However, an optimal level of Vitamin D tends to be much different than the standard range used by most doctors on a blood test.

One of the simple, yet most important, health benefits that I have seen in practice is the value in drinking an adequate amount of water each day.
I personally have noticed that people tend not to drink enough water on a daily basis. This can lead to a number of different health issues. And, as some of you already know, I especially see this issue affecting many people who have chronic Lyme disease.
Do you know the many benefits of drinking an adequate amount of water each day? Or, how much water is sufficient to drink each day to help optimize your health? Keep reading to find out more.

A chronic health condition doesn't happen overnight. One can find many theories online to why it happens, but the real cause to virtually all chronic disease is much easier to understand than one may think.
Once you know what's causing it, then the solution to healing from it can be much more obtainable.

Zinc is more powerful than most people think, including most doctors.
It's interesting that the news report headline conveniently leaves out zinc, and that the reporter keeps focusing on Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) alone.

Inflammation is a huge contributing factor to the symptoms of disease. Inflammation causes a reduction in circulatory flow (blood flowing through the body), as well as lymphatic flow (picks up the waste that the blood misses). So, of course people with inflammation in their bodies, especially the brain, are going to have brain fog.
The blood is a vital part of our life lifeforce. It carries all the necessary nutrients needed for our tissues to stay healthy and to repair itself. For example: oxygen, vitamins, minerals, water, and others. It also carries waste products from the cells (carbon dioxide and other toxins), which can cause inflammation by themselves. If you can't get these things to and from various parts of the brain, then brain fog, as well as many other issues, can develop.
In the article, they seem to think that giving people anti-inflammatory drugs are the way to solve this problem, but I will tell you that this is what we call "treating the symptoms and not the root cause of disease." You must address the real issue if you want to experience true healing. Treating only the symptoms and not the root cause will only drive the real issue deeper into your body, and as a result, the disease will manifest itself into a worsened disease and a more difficult disease to cure.
There are many contributing factors to body inflammation, such as trauma, food allergies and also food sensitivities (both associated with a poor diet, resulting in poor gut health, including leaky gut syndrome), certain infections (especially in Lyme disease and Bartonellosis), stress, hormonal imbalances, lack of proper sleep, and many others.
Brain fog is usually easily solved once you find and eliminate the root cause of the issue, which will in itself improve circulatory flow, and hence increasing the amount of nutrients to the needed regions in the brain while eliminating waste much more effectively. Once this is done, the body will reduce the inflammation on its own.
Remember, your body is always working to remain in homeostasis (internal balance). It is always trying to fix the damage caused by the things that we throw at it, meaning that it is always working to return to true health. Disease happens when your body can no longer overcome the obstacles that you throw at it each day. By working with it (eating clean, eating the appropriate nutrients, getting proper rest, doing relaxation techniques, exercise, etc.) it will reward us with true healing and optimal health.

The list of people that Lyme disease has affected is growing each day. And, Shania Twain is one of those people.
In this article, it talks about how Ms. Twain developed permanent damage to her throat, although she has found ways to work around the damage over time.
It's not clear in the article if she tried any alternative/holistic medicines to help in her recovery, which is too bad.
