Lenten Challenge Lent gives us an annual time to reboot or reset ourselves through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. This year, I encourage you to identify one or two “glitches...
Dear Faith Filled Members of our Community,
It has been an awesome start to Lent! Thank you for your concerns for the safety of our Staff, and for me personally. I would like to thank the Wheaton Police Department who have responded to our needs with the utmost of care. The person in question has been served an Order of Trespass and can not visit our facilities. This level of security is a welcome relief.
May God continue to send His Angels to watch over us! Let’s get on with Lent!
Fr John
Dear Faith Filled Members of our Community,
As we get ready to begin our journey into Lent we are reminded of the real danger of evil. Yesterday, February 12, at approximately 3:45pm, a person in a green SUV approached our building. The offices were closed and the Staff had already concluded their responsibilities for the day. All of this occurred while I was in my upstairs office preparing to leave for a home visit for the Anointing of the Sick. I was not aware this was happening. The person of interest went to every entrance trying all of the doors that were locked and even tried to open a window. He also used our key pads punching in random numbers to try to get inside our premises. This is very disturbing and very bold. We do have him on video camera and have shared all of our footage with the Wheaton Police Dept.
I invite you as a Parish to be aware and attentive. If you are driving in this area take the time to pass by. If you see something that doesn’t seem quite right, do something, call the Police. As a community we will put our trust in God and in His power to overcome all evil.
Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, we will not let evil prevail nor let this distract us. Our Masses are at 7:30 am, Noon, 4:30 pm and 7:00pm. We are called to find our identity in the Cross of Christ, our first step is tomorrow.
