412 Gary Youth Band played at Gary Church's family camp! Way to go!
On our last day, we started the day like any other day, with devotionals. Team Wolf painted (no pictures). Team Bear organized bedding for Dakota Camp, cleaned bathrooms, and weeded some more. For community night, we met Tanner and Autumn, who taught us about the Dakota language. We ended our mission trip with footwashing/handwashing. We head home tomorrow! More pictures to come.
On Wednesday, team Wolf woke up early to make breakfast. Then, they went to a nursing home to help with lawn maintenance and spend time with the residents. Sorry, no picture were allowed. Team Bear went to Camp Dakota Sonshine to help clear weeds and remove a gigantic rock. We met some furry friends. For free time, we took a short hike at Sica Hallow State Park.
After a hard day of work, for free time, we climbed the Nicolle Tower and visited the beautiful Lake Traverse. Some of us sat on the pier and took in the scenery, and some of us skipped rocks. We found a snake, so we all gathered to take a look.
On Tuesday, the Wolf team weeded some more (no pictures) while the Bear team painted and planted flowers at the Sisseton Wahpeton College. The Wolf team prepared and introduced our dinner with a song.
On Monday, we started our day learning about the history of Native people in relationship to the US government. Then, we went out and weeded, weeded and weeded! We also served our mission campers by cleaning the bathrooms.
Today, we got to know the other churches on mission with us. We also learned about being rooted in Christ, our theme for the week. We begin our first work day tomorrow!
We had a blessed week at Holiday BLAST Camp learning about joy!
