Bringing kids to get eyes checked ahead of school is important, doctor says Reed said increased use of screens at school, which grew significantly during the pandemic, has increased the likelihood that children will develop vision issues such as myopia or near-sightedness, eye coordination issues, eyestrain and dry eye.
Enjoy a day at the beach or pool while caring for your eyes! If you wear contacts, optometrists recommend wearing goggles and bringing extra lenses and contact solution. Avoid swimming or diving in contacts and don't rinse your lenses with tap or ocean water.

This Firework Eye Safety Month, WCO reminds you that although fireworks can be exciting, they can also cause significant injuries if mishandled, especially to the eyes. Follow the safety tips below to keep your eyes safe while handling fireworks.
◆ Wear protective eyewear while handling fireworks.
◆ Do not touch unexploded fireworks.
◆ Keep a bucket of water nearby to pour on fireworks that fail to explode.
◆ Never light fireworks in a container.
◆ If an eye injury does occur, seek medical attention immediately.
