Hey friends and customers! There are only a few precious days left in October. This is an announcement telling yall that Cat's Paw will be closed for the month of November.
Why?
So Amanda and Nayt can finally take their honeymoon!
Don't worry, Amanda will be back in time to build any frame you need for Christmas! And if you have any small jobs that can be finished before November 1st, bring them in!

Halloween fun today with the Sunday art class!

What do you do when you have the perfect frame, but your picture doesn't quite fit right?

We mat it, of course!

But sometimes the mat margins won't be nice and even all the way around. So what's next?

Well, some people don't mind uneven margins! They can look nice! As long as the image is centered and is the star of the show, uneven margins aren't a big deal.

Or, we can make up the difference by having one side be a little bigger than the others. Some people like the presentation of this look. Especially if you have a plaque or decoration you would like to incorporate with your image.

What do you think? What's the better look, in your opinion?

Cat's Paw will open up when the power comes back!

When the order is big, the supplies are even bigger. This is a packaged piece of 60"x96" acrylic and backing that was shipped to me today, ready to be cut to size and used in a frame!

At Cat's Paw, sometimes a job isn't about the frame! Stretching canvas before or after something is painted on it can be a BIG task, but with patience and the right tools, the end result is always great!

A burst of color can really draw the eye!

A frame can help your art feel more complete!

Did you know that whenever I refurbish an old frame, I keep the art that I find inside? I have a whole collection of faded prints, water damaged paintings, and crumbling photos. Who knows? They might find new life someday!

Real otter weather we're having today!

A perfect example of regular glass vs. glass that has been treated with a non-glare coating! Regular glass can be very reflective even under soft or dim lights, while non-glare glass diffuses the light to be less noticeable

It's inventory day! That special time of year when i go through all my frame samples and make sure they are still available to order! Old frames go out, and new ones come in. Please mind our mess here at Cat's Paw! It helps keep things organized in the long run.
