There are 4 main hormones that regulate fertility!
🧞‍♀️ FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone)
🧞‍♀️ LH (Luteinizing Hormone)
🧞‍♀️ Estrogen
🧞‍♀️ Progesterone
Each hormone has a very specialized role.
It's important to have a solid understanding of your hormones so you can be informed, feel empowered, and be engaged in making decisions about your body and fertility journey!

Did you know s***m can live in the female reproductive tract for up to 5 days?
For your best chance at conception, either through in*******se or insemination, s***m should be waiting in the fallopian tubes when an egg is released at ovulation.
This means your best fertile window is the 4 days leading up to + the day of ovulation. 🥚
Check out my recent blog post ✍ on the fertile window, including the clues 🔍 to look for in the days leading up to ovulation & tips for timing in*******se or insemination.

𝗡𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱, 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 ❤
I don't know about you but when I stop nourishing myself everything else in my life falls apart. 😫
I encourage you to do a self check in. Just like you do with all the people you love. ✔
🤔 Are my needs being met?
🤔 Do I feel rested?
🤔 Am I fed?
🤔 Am I setting healthy boundaries?
🤔 What is it that I love and how do I include more of that in my life?
🤔 Am I staying connected to people, places, and activities that add to my joy?
While a spa day is nice, self care is daily practice. A daily ritual of self love.
What does your self care practice include?

𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵! It is a deliberate choice to check in, identify your own unmet needs, and nurture your wellbeing.
It is NOT indulgent or a disregard for others. It is an offering of self-compassion and love.
It often means setting boundaries and communicating your needs.
It is not a one-time experience. It's an ongoing practice essential for resilience.
You do have time. Love on yourself my friend.💕

Creative expression through sewing is a healing meditation full of sound, silence, color, patience, and compassion. It has comforted me in times of grief and contributed immensely to my joy. 💜🌈☀
How do you express your creativity? Do you make it an instrumental part of your self-care? 👩‍🎨

How Do I Know If I'm Ovulating?
There are several ways to predict, detect, & confirm ovulation. Basal Body Temperature (BBT) is one way to detect ovulation.
During the 1st part of the menstrual cycle (before ovulation), BBT is usually between 97-98 degrees Fahrenheit. 🌡 About 1 day before ovulation, BBT will generally reach its lowest point. After ovulation, in response to progesterone, BBT will begin to rise, anywhere from .4-1 degree F. It will bounce around a little but should remain elevated throughout the luteal phase (2nd half of the menstrual cycle) until progesterone starts to decline 1-2 days before menstrual bleeding.
If ovulation doesn't occur, you won't see the characteristic bump in temperature because, without ovulation, the follicle will not transition to a corpus luteum and release progesterone, which is a thermogenic hormone.
Historically, BBT has been taken orally, 🤒1st thing in the morning before getting out of bed 🛏, with a special thermometer that measures 1/100th of a degree. There are many variations of this, from low-tech digital to high-tech smart thermometers that sync with an app on your phone that also track a million other things. Most recently, I've been using a wearable device that goes on my arm called . I had several clients that loved it, and I wanted to check it out for myself. It also syncs with an app on my phone, not throughout the night, but when I tell it to. So there is no communication happening while I sleep. So far, it's great! I'll post about it after I've tried it for a few weeks.
