If you are on the list you can bring a license/picture ID to our office and a check will be written to you.

YOUR Circuit Court Clerks Office open Monday-Friday, 8am to 4pm on the second floor of the Letcher County Courthouse @ 156 Main Street Suite 201 in downtown Whitesburg. Call 606-633-7559 and ask to speak with our Bookkeeper.

If not collected in the weeks ahead, per policy we will forward the money onto the KY Dept. of Treasury to be listed in the unclaimed property division—where it can also be collected by its rightful owner, just with a different process.

Received word today from the KY Department of Transportation that Letcher County would be getting four (4) pop-up for drivers licenses a year instead of 2. The next one will be July 23, 2024. You will be able to make appointments starting July 9th at drive.ky.gov the next two will be October 10, 2024 and November 19, 2024.
