Today we celebrate 110 years of LACC!🎈💙
It is with a great pride, and honor that I share this image: the original Articles of Incorporation signed in October 18, 1911 when the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic was born.
We are proud to have a history of making a difference, by preparing students to become integrative healthcare practitioners through excellence in healthcare education.
We are proud to have you with us: students, faculty, staff and alumni – you are the part of this successful history! Congratulations to us!
To help spread our pride, please share your Happy Birthday message to LACC on your social media tagging and using our hashtag
The first chiropractic commercial airing during the olympics and of course it features our talented LACC alumna Dr. Erica Witter-Davis!
• An exciting first for the chiropractic profession is happening during the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo! The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress has produced a TV commercial that is airing during the .
The 30-second commercial aims to inspire athletes and others to consider a career as a doctor of chiropractic and motivate the public to seek chiropractic care for themselves and their families.
We are proud also to share the commercial features Dr. Erica Witter-Davis, DC, DACBSP®, CSCS®, who graduated from Southern California University of Health Sciences Cum Laude and was the recipient of the President’s Award. She is an athlete who competed professionally as a sprinter, becoming a National Champion in the 100m and 200m and competing at the Sydney Olympics (2000) and World Championships (2001). After SCU, Dr. Whittier-Davis started a practice in Redondo Beach, CA, named Range of Motion Chiropractic.
Happy Monday 😊 I’m sure you are all well aware, but just wanted to remind you that SCU Alumni are the best! Excited to spotlight Charissa who is serving as an ATC in the olympics! How amazing it must be to be a part of such a wonderful experience!
Repost from our• page.
Congratulations to SCU Alumni Charissa Douglas who is in Tokyo for the Olympics as part of the Team USA medical staff for the Women's Softball team. 🇺🇸 🥎
Charissa shared, "I wouldn't be where I am today if I didn't have the support system and mentorship I had at SCU, but more specifically at SCU Sports Medicine. I really struggled with what my identity was going to be as a healthcare professional being a soon-to-be dual-credentialed practitioner, and struggled with self confidence in my skill set while in school, but because I had a community of faculty and administration constantly encouraging me and challenging me to be the best I could be, I felt well prepared to bring what I learned out of school to Team USA. In the last few years, I had the opportunity to work with various USA teams from US Wrestling to the US Soccer Women's National Teams, but finally found my home with USA Softball in January of this year. I'm absolutely honored to be part of the medical staff representing the United States Olympic Team and this experience has been truly a childhood dream come true."
Don't forget to tune in to the Women's Softball game Tuesday morning as they go for GOLD!🥇✨
We will highlight more SCU Alumni and current students who have had the opportunity to work with Team USA or compete in the Olympics!
