✨MUSCLE OF THE SOUL✨

This is the PSOAS muscle, sometimes referred to in yoga as the muscle of the soul. The psoas has a direct relationship to our sympathetic (fight or flight) nervous system. It contracts to help protect vital organs and readies us to move in that fight or flight response. Amazing, right?! 🤩

A chronically tight psoas can also lend to back pain, hip pain, and has even been linked to chronic anxiety. In pregnant women we often see as goes the psoas, so goes the birth. This is why Dr. Hali gives special attention to the psoas muscle in pregnant women!🤰🏽

Our body’s design is truly remarkable, and when we lean in and listen to it, we can discover exactly what it’s trying to tell us! 🗣

Mamas or soon to be mamas, Dr. Hali is certified in the Webster technique: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Webster technique consists of chiropractic evaluation of the sacrum and it’s alignment within the pelvis. Adjustments are performed to put the sacrum back into the correct alignment. Massage and stretching of the attachment points of the uterine ligaments on the abdominal wall is also performed. This specific combination of adjustments and soft tissue work serve to normalize the tension of the uterine ligaments on the uterus itself and result in the reduction of intrauterine constraint. With normal tension on the uterus and more room within, the fetus can position itself where it already knows it needs to be, head down! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
