Our Story
“Food is all we’ve ever done,” says our co-founder Greg Atkin, who, like his business partners Rick Post and Tom White, always dreamed of opening a restaurant someday. That dream became a reality when we opened our first Il Vicino location back in 1992 and instantly roused the appetite of pizza lovers looking for meals that were a cut above the regular pie. Today, you can find Il Vicino locations in Colorado, Kansas, and New Mexico serving a variety of fresh, wood-fired pizzas, from conventional Margherita to creative, gourmet-inspired pies. Our menu is filled out by calzones, paninis, fresh signature salads, and baked pastas, and we even offer selections of wine, beer, and tempting desserts. All that combined with our friendly service and our relaxing, casually refined space make us the perfect spot for dinners of all kinds, from quick solo lunches between meetings to fun family dinners.
