2️⃣ Shop around. Make sure to do your research - ask your friends for referrals, check out google reviews, and client testimonials for different contractors before making a decision. Each contractor is different and will likely have a different bid amount, timeline, and way they operate - so be sure you have all the info before making your decision.

3️⃣ Keep records. Make sure to keep records of progress, payments, and changes to avoid any issues down the line. This is just a way to protect yourself and your investment!

3 things to avoid during your Kitchen Renovation👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

1. Avoid getting the wrong lighting! Even show stopping designs can feel overshadowed if the lighting isn’t on point. We advise a mix of task, ambient, and accent lighting to help create an inviting and well lit kitchen.
2. Avoid skimping on counter space! Limited counter space means you may limit the functionality of the space. 
& trust us, you don’t want a cramped kitchen! You want to be comfortable both when cooking and entertaining.
3. Don’t wait to choose your appliances! If you’re getting new cabinets and appliances, then be sure to know your appliance measurements before the cabinet specifications are made otherwise you may be limited to what appliances will fit in the space.

Bathrooms are so varied these days, some might say that anything goes…but the truth is, behind the differing sizes and styles there are some common design principles. Here’s what you need to know⬇️

1. Make Sure It’s Functional
YES we want it to be pretty, but ultimately a bathroom must work. That means it should feel natural to use AND be easy to clean (you’ll thank us later). You’re going to want your essentials to be accessible, well-functioning and suitably lit! The Golden Rule of Bathroom Design? Never let style get in the way of function.

2. Include Plenty of Storage
Piggybacking off of rule number 1, we encourage you to accept the reality and embrace great bathroom storage. Let’s be honest, the clutter of too many toiletries, no matter how attractive, can undo your good work in creating a calm space & we don’t want that for you! The key is to think through what you need to store and then design appropriately. Some things are best kept in a drawer and others in a cabinet. Consider how the storage solutions will work as part of the whole room.

3. Think About the Details
Even bathrooms with the most expensive fixtures can end up looking poorly if the details aren’t carefully considered. One example: Do you have a family of blond girlies all using purple shampoo? Then you may not want to use white tile grout in the shower that could turn purple over time, know what I mean?

4.Don’t Squeeze In Too Many Pieces
A bathroom should be a place to be calm and relaxed. The last thing you want is this space to feel cramped and uncomfortable. Our advice? Go for a separate tub and shower only if there’s genuinely enough room; otherwise, combine the two.

5. Let In Natural Light
Daylight can be the most wonderful magnifier of space especially in small bathrooms. Remember the most intense daylight comes from above, so installing skylights is a pro hack to flood a room with light while saving the walls for fixtures and furniture!

1. Use light paint colors to make the space feel lighter and brighter
2. Avoid bold patterns as this can create visual clutter by creating more contrast.
3. Let natural light into the space if possible to allow in more light
4. Incorporate mirrors! They reflect light and as you can see, from above more light = more space to the eye.
5. Choose the right size furniture and don’t clutter the space with too many pieces.
6. Consider floating furniture pieces that mount to the wall as these take up less floor space.
7. Also consider low profile furniture - pieces with low height or low backs because these can make your walls appear taller and the room feel larger.
8. DECLUTTER! Enough said.
9. Be strategic with your lighting. Think about using more than one ceiling fixture or wall mounts in a few places to let the eye travel vs settling on one central spot in the room.
10. Make a statement on the ceiling - whether this is ornate crown moulding, wallpapering it, or adding tin panels, this will help to draw the eye upward and make the room feel larger.

Using wallpaper in bathrooms is one of our favorite ways to add color and design appeal to the space. It’s common to think that wallpaper can’t be used in a humid, wet bathroom environment, but with proper preparation and the right type of product, you can totally use wallpaper in the bathroom.

For the bathroom, it’s best to stick to a vinyl paper as this is most ideal for high-moisture environments like a full bathroom! We have plenty to choose from in our wallpaper library🤩 Come see for yourself & start your bathroom upgrade today!

Mixing metals in the bathroom is an easy way to add interest and give the room a contemporary feel.

A rule of thumb for mixing metals: use no more than 3 metal finishes in one room.

Our advice? Use a timeless metal like polished nickel, brass, or chrome for your permanent fixtures like shower heads and lighting, and use your secondary or third metal finishes on things that are easier to change out if needed like mirrors and drawer pulls.

For a nice balance of finishes, consider mixing a cool metal (chrome, polished nickel, brushed nickel) with a warm metal (brew, gold, copper, oil-rubbed bronze).

Another good rule of thumb is to get samples and place your metals next to each other to determine if they create a pleasing-to-the-eye mixture.

Looking for an easy way to create an accent wall? You may want to consider a board and batten wall!

It’s just putting wood/mdf strips on your wall in a pattern or design. We love it because it’s is an affordable way to give a space character, add a focal point, and elevate your space.

Here’s a few tips to make sure it comes out looking like a professional did the install:

* Draw out your wall and measure where all of your batten trim boards will go before purchasing materials or installing anything!
* Keep spacing between trim batten boards the same.
* Please use a level to ensure your board are installed properly - eyeballing it is NOT recommended!
* Consider using a paint sprayer for a smooth paint finish
