Here at HRC our mission is to bring healing, restoration, inspiration and impartation to others.
Just stopping in to say hello 👋🏾 and to ask you, “how are you doing?” Sometimes we can be so busy “doing” that we have no idea or any insight into how we’re really doing. Stop 🛑 and pause long enough to check in with both yourself and others.

As for me, it’s been a challenging three years to say the least but I, LaMonica, am still here. I am well. It’s not because everything is perfect but because I trust that all things are working together for my ultimate good.💚

Increasing your seretonin levels will help you to fight off and help you to fight through depression. I have been sensing a heavy spirit of depression this last week or so in my spirit. It’s plaguing and it’s heavy! As a Psychotherapist, I am also working with at least twenty people a week, currently who’s dealing with depression on some level. You’ll depression is real and it can be debilitating! However, you can make what some of us Therapist call a “Mood Independent Choice” to do something without your moods approval. One way to do that is to get moving! Research shows us that some form of activity will help to decrease depression. I know it’s hard but get moving. Go for a walk, go exercise, clean 🧼 out a closet, declutter. Do something. You can even take a nice soothing bath 🛀 or shower. The point is to move. Be gentle with yourself, especially your heart but move.
I am praying for you today and I prophesy that you shall LIVE and not die! You will get through this holiday season! That lurking spirit of su***de is annihilated in Jesus name! You’re going to LIVE!!!

I just want to sincerely THANK those of you that I’ve ever had the privilege to work with. THANK YOU for allowing me to sit with you in your pain during some of the most difficult times in your life. It’s an absolute honor to serve in this capacity as a CALLED spirit filled Psychotherapist. If I’ve never had the opportunity to work with you just know that my heart is compassionate and I pray for the healing, emotional and mental well being of others on a consistent basis, it’s one of my mandates.
Although I am not totally open to accept new clients at this time, I do review each request on a case by case basis and if my schedule just happens to open up at the time of the review and I can accept a new client I will. I just did and the excellent referral that she came with blessed my heart, soul and spirit! I am truly humbled and so grateful!💗

Take a look at this diagram and be aware of the signs. If you or someone you know is exhibiting these signs please don’t delay in reaching out and getting help.💚 Getting help from SAFE QUALIFIED Mental Health Providers is okay!

As I became an experienced therapist, the below question became easier to ask. It’s so hard in the beginning. Sometimes we don’t just ask the question while the person is suffering inside. September is Su***de Awareness month, but let us never forget!
Others may not understand your pace in life but move at your own speed because you know what you need and you also know what the consequences are of not getting what you need. Self-care is about taking care of YOURSELF and you can’t expect others to do that for you. It’s your responsibility.💚💚
Mental Tip: Work hard PLAY HARDER!!!🙂 JOYABLE moments are essential, create them and savor them! 💚💚
Happy 😃 JOYOUS Health Monday!!! If you’re not careful you’ll use “healing is a process” as an excuse for self sabotaging behavior or as a crutch to be stagnant. Healing is a process BUT that isn’t the entire truth.♥️

Health Monday Sometimes we think 🤔 that we’re doing others a favor by not speaking up when we need to but we’re really only hurting ourselves and them. If you’re keeping quiet and allowing things to just fester in your heart it is bound to come up and out and most likely when you least expect it to. When our boundaries are crossed and we do nothing to rectify it we can breed resentment and there isn’t anything powerful about resentment. However, using your voice is very powerful. Don’t be mean, hateful or disrespectful but use your voice and set those boundaries with others. 🥰
Here’s your Mental Health Tip... PLEASE take care of YOU whatever that looks like.
I got up this morning and I attempted to keep my normal Monday regimen which usually consist of working out but both my body and mind was sending me a different message and it was disguised in fatigue, minor muscle aches and a lot on my mind. Rather than pushing myself past my feelings which are necessary at times I decided to stop and listen to what my body needed and came to the conclusion that I needed to rest my body and my mind. Today, I am currently working from my bed.😉. Funny thing is everything is just flowing from my mind while my body has a chance to rest a little more this morning. What is your body, mind, feelings or emotions telling you today? Whatever it is I am encouraging you to listen to it and honor it.

Health Tip: If you want to experience more JOY commit to being more intentional to do so. Set your mind now to see things from a new and fresh perspective while flushing out all negativity in your mind and in your life. Repeat this out loud... “I CHOOSE JOY” and then walk in it.

Mental Health Monday!!! Is anyone else working on something NEW besides me? If you are pace yourself. I have been experiencing repeated delays and as you know that can be very frustrating. Soooooo...guess what I am getting ready to do? Call it a day on this particular project and go work out. So if things aren't going quite as you expect them to and there are things that are beyond your control pivot and do something different. Starring at closed doors never get them open.

CHANGE is coming and it is starting with you! You may be hoping and wishing that someone else in your life would change so that you can start to do things differently and finally heal. Well... I have good news for you. You can change even when they won’t or don’t. Your healing isn’t contingent upon anyone else. All you need to heal is a decision to do so. 💚💚
Here’s another one.💚💚
Easy isn’t always necessarily the best course of action to get to your desired outcome. Let me explain, this morning as I was putting in a new trash bag in the powder room I was tempted to walk into an entirely different part of my home to get a trash bag that was in fact a grocery bag, that was more easily accessible instead of staying put in the powder room using a pretty pink 😉 freshly scented trash bag that was nicely tucked away in the very room that I was in. Why? Because the pretty pink 😉 nicely scented trash bag was put up neatly and had a tie around it and I didn’t want that extra step. The grocery bags were under the kitchen cabinet and I could just grab one.🤦🏾♀️ Pitiful? I know. Lol 😂!!! I immediately awakened to what was happening and thought how terrible is it when we opt out of best for sup par because we don’t want the extra steps. I then decided to untie the bag, pull out the roll of pretty pink 😉 trash bags, get one out, put the trash bags back in the bag, put the tie back on them and nicely put them back under the cabinet. Were there a few extra steps involved in choosing the pretty pink bags? Yes, but the payoff was rewarding.
Today while your making decisions choose the best and not necessarily the easiest. Slow down, be intentional and make the decision that you’ll be most happy with later.

Mental Health Tip: When I woke up this morning I attempted to put on my pink 😉 slippers and immediately felt the discomfort of having them on the wrong foot. Instantly I put them on correctly and that is when a word hit my spirit that I wanted to share with you. Why is it when something don’t fit us we try to force it to fit? For instance, a job... relationship... financial investment... etc. Rather than listening to our gut acknowledging that this just doesn’t suit us we try to make what we know will never work deep down inside work. Don’t waste time trying to make a wrong right when you know without a shawdow of doubt that it just isn’t going to work. It was never meant to work and you know it but you just keep trying to make it work. Give it up and do the RIGHT thing that’s in your heart your heart to do. Maybe it isn’t as simple as putting your slippers on the right feet but whatever it is I pray that you have the courage to do it and the wisdom to execute it in LOVE. Blessings!!!💚💚

Codependency is something we begin learning in our earliest years. When we have parent figures who are disconnected from self, there will be blurred emotional boundaries.
Blurred emotional boundaries look like:
1. A parent sharing intimate information as if a child is a friend/peer
2. A parent spying/snooping
3. A parent telling a child to “toughen up” or to “not be so sensitive/dramatic/etc”
4. A parent communicating marital issues through children
5. A parent denying a child’s reality: “oh uncle mark is a great guy” or “I don’t know why you’re so upset, it wasn’t a big deal”
All of these behaviors are unconscious + unintentional, but as children these lack of boundaries translate into seeking self through others. We have low self worth + as adults, we look to other people to give us this sense of self worth.
Many people describe this as “social anxiety” which at its core is the fear of being seen or heard because at one time that meant shame.
Codependency conditioning carries a lot of shame because when other people are the source of our self worth, we end up on emotional roller coasters.
Do you see this pattern in your own life?
Monday Health Tip: Do anyone ever over think anything or is it just me? Say me if that’s you.🙂. If you have the tendency to overthink at times too I totally get it and I want to help you ease your mind some. First, take note that overthinking is a real thing. Second, recognize that you have the tendency to do it. Third, when you seem to be growing increasingly confused and agitated by your thoughts pertaining to the subject at hand decide to walk away and let it go. Lastly, when you’re in a calmer state of mind and spirit revisit it. You got this!!!💚💚
