Katie's wedding day was made even more special by wearing her mom’s 1980s wedding dress.

Her vision was to keep the heart of her mom’s dress intact but make it feel more like her own.

We started by removing the sleeves, which instantly gave the dress a lighter and more modern look. Then, we opened up the neckline to add a touch of elegance. We also added a layer of soft English net to the skirt, creating a dreamy and ethereal feel.

Katie looked absolutely radiant on her wedding day, and it was an honor to be a part of her story.

We had the incredible pleasure of creating a retro-remake for our Vanya Bride Mary’s wedding.

She wanted to honor her mother in a meaningful way, so we worked together to incorporate elements from her mother's wedding dress into Mary’s bridal look.

This included two unique pieces beyond the dress itself:

The robe was a surprise for her mother, created for Mary to wear as she got ready on her wedding day.

The purse, crafted from the same material, was a surprise gift from Mary to her mother. We even used her mother’s original tiny purse and added it as a pocket into her new creation.

Retro-remakes show how wedding attire can be more than just a dress—it can be a link to the past, honored and carried forward into new beginnings.🖤

One of the most reassuring aspects of bespoke wedding dress design is the idea of trusting the process. 🤍

I’m currently working with a bride on her custom gown, and it’s not uncommon for the dress not to fit perfectly at the first fitting.

She came in, tried it on, and it wasn’t exactly what she had envisioned yet…

This is the moment where she had to trust that we know what we’re doing.

Adjusting fit, shape, and style lines, pinning, and making tweaks are all important steps in perfecting the dress.

Now, after her third fitting…the gown is almost finished, is absolutely stunning, and she’s obsessed with it. 😍

She couldn’t believe she was ever worried about it.

The success of creating a bespoke gown lies in open communication and flexibility.

If something about the dress doesn't feel right..whether it's the sleeves, the fit, or the fabric, we can change it.

For instance, one bride initially chose a mermaid silhouette but later decided it wasn't for her. We transformed her dress into a beautiful ball gown with a flowy skirt, which she absolutely adored at the final fitting.🪡

In my years of working with brides, I've learned that almost every woman tends to focus on what she perceives as her biggest flaw.

No matter how stunning she looks, there's often one thing she can't see past.

This has shaped how we approach EVERY gown we design.

By listening closely to each bride's concerns, we tailor our designs to enhance her best features and shift focus away from areas she’s less confident about.

It’s about creating a moment of transformation when she looks in the mirror.🤍🪞

For instance, if a bride feels self-conscious about her arms, we might design a dress with elegant sleeves that make her feel covered yet stylish.

If it's her waist she's unsure about, we'll create a silhouette that elongates and flatters, enhancing her natural shape.

When it comes to choosing your wedding dress, the decision isn’t always about the price tag…🏷️

I recently read a discussion in a 2024 Brides group that highlighted a common dilemma: choosing between a less expensive dress that lacks certain details or opting for a pricier gown that has all the desired features.

One bride faced a choice..

To either buy a simpler dress without beading for less, or spend an additional $1,200 on a gown that included exquisite hand beading but didn’t have another desired feature, a slit. 💭

This brings up an essential point about wedding dress shopping… (the hidden costs)

The idea of adding beading later to the less expensive dress was tempting until she learned that the cost of custom beading can be surprisingly high.

This is the beauty of custom couture.. when you choose a bespoke gown, everything is included in the price. 💫
