CAPTURE THE TURKEY RESULTS!!!!
This year we focused ALOT on SPORTSMANSHIP!!! Today was a great day!!! Here are your winners of the traveling Capture the Turkey Sportsmanship Award! Congratulations to Mrs. Zepeda, Mrs. Myers, and Mrs. Cunningham's classes.

Also Congratulations to Mrs. Lien's Class for winning the Championship for all the grade levels!!

USD263 is officially on Fall Break! No school next week (November 20th - 24th). School will be back in session on November 27th. We hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Fall Break and a happy Thanksgiving!

Congrats to Mrs. Lien's 5th grade class who won the "Capture the Turkey" today and to the MGS Teachers who won the final match. It was a great day of competition! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving break!

Road Closure Update!

The closures have been pushed into next week.

The underpass on Highway 53 is going to be closed November 14-15 and the railroad crossing west of S 1st Street is going to be closed November 16-17

The School District was recently informed by the City that on 11/7 at 7 a.m., BNSF is set to close the roadway under the overpass on K-53, west of Mulvane Firehouse 1 to install new sections of rail across the bridge. The roadway is planned to be reopened on 11/8 at 5 p.m. On 11/9 at 7 a.m., BNSF is set to close the railroad crossing, west of S 1st Street on K-53 to install new sections of rail through that crossing. It is set to reopen on 11/10 at 5 p.m. I have attached the traffic control plan sent to the district for your reference. Our transportation department will make alternate route plans as needed.

Not only did Mr. Bohannon get slimed this morning, the MGS students had a chance to slime him this afternoon as well. And as a bonus, Ms. Mize sat in the slime seat as well! The kids loved it!! Have a wonderful Halloween tonight!!

On Tuesday, MGS had our 1st Quarter Awards Assembly. Students were selected by teachers for achievements and acknowledgements.

Awards were given for Super Specials, Recess Rockstar and Lunch Room Leader. These students were students who modeled our Capturing Kids' Hearts character traits while they were away from the classroom.

In the classroom students were recognized for gaining academic momentum in Math and ELA. And an award for Effort was also given to a deserving student who gave continuous effort even during their most challenging tasks.

We are so very proud of all of these students!!!

Wildcat Leader 1st Quarter Drawing Winners got to take a trip to DQ with Mrs. Miller for some ice cream today!!

Just a reminder that there will be no school district-wide on Thursday, October 19th, and Friday, October 20th for Parent/Teacher conferences and a comp day. Please enjoy the long weekend and we will see everyone back on Monday morning!

TONIGHT IS PICTURE RETAKE NIGHT!!!! At Mulvane Middle School. Please bring original pictures to exchange for retakes. ALL GRADE LEVELS (Pre-K-12) will all be done at this time.

Retakes will be done a little differently this year at Mulvane Schools. No retake days will be held during school time. Bring your student to our District Wide Retake Night to ensure they look picture perfect if they are in need of a retake.

No sign ups necessary. Just stop in during conference night at the MMS Gym. If you already ordered prints, be sure to bring the original prints with you so we can exchange them for new prints of the new photo.
