Free breakfast, lunches available this summer for all kids in the Wichita area Beginning next week, Wichita Public Schools will offer free breakfast and lunch to any child who needs them, not just kids in the district.

Our commencement ceremony will be this Thursday, May 16th, at 7:00. If you would like to live stream the event you can use the following link below. The link is also available on our website under the both the “parents” and “students” tabs on the senior class information page.

If you have a ticket for graduation, please note that the doors will open at 5:30pm. WSU and USD259 do have a clear bag policy so please note that before waiting in line to enter. Reminders are also on the back of your ticket.

Congratulations to Wichita HS South English teacher Heidi Dreiling who was surprised today with the 2024 Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Read 180 National Educator of the Year award for the reading skills growth her students demonstrated this year!

Wichita South Archery 23-24 The Wichita South Archery Team has qualified to compete in the JROTC Western Nationals and the National Archery in School Program's National tournament in Sandy Utah on April 23-26.

Wednesday, February 28, all juniors will take the ACT test ­for free. We will begin our school day as scheduled to start administering the test, so it is very important that students arrive on time. School will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. (11:30 a.m. for NEM). Students who ride the bus will have transportation home.
There will be no school for freshmen, sophomores or seniors on that day, so please plan ahead for this schedule change. All students will be in class on Thursday, Feb. 29.
