A big shout out to our August anniversaries!!

A huge Thank You to Sgt. Brower and Ranger for the special visit today! What a fun experience for the children and teachers. Sgt. Brower taught us so much, and Ranger was so calm and sweet with our kiddos.

Happy JULY, which is also National Ice Cream Month! Room 9 celebrated accordingly by having Ms. Christine come in and make homemade ice cream together. They each added their own toppings of choice and got to enjoy the results of their hard work. 🍦🍦🍦

Our room 9 children gave us quite the treat yesterday!! They worked together to make lemonade for the entire school! It was awesome to see them serving the kids and teachers from around the building. What a refreshing and delicious treat!! Thanks Room 9 ❤️

Excited to announce our upcoming Curriculum Fair! More information will be sent out next week.

Superheroes are always a hot topic with children, and it is no different here at Discovery Place. Our Teachers in Room 4 have decided to take that interest and guide the children into learning about what a "Real Hero" in our everyday lives would look like.

We have reached out to the community and found some local heroes to come in and talk with our students. So far, we have had the honor of two amazing police officers and a brave fire fighter come to educate our children on what they do to save people and keep us all safe.

Room 7 has spent our year being really interested in all things construction. Our tool area is frequently visited to measure, hammer, or draw up blueprints. We have also spent a lot of time of building with cardboard boxes and turning them into something else. To further our construction investigation, Room 7 had two visitors from Conco Construciton read the kids a book, answer questions about their jobs, and work with the kids. The kids had a lot of thoughtful questions for them including "do you like lunch breaks?" and "how do you fix a house?" They also loved getting the opportunity to show the construction workers their own tools and building activities that they have available to them. Their favorite part was probably getting to try on hard hats and ask questions!

Studio time for Room 7 today! Their students have been designing and constructing the most amazing objects using recycled materials, paint, tape, glue, etc.. All based on their own ideas. Such brilliant minds at work!
