Do you remember Beverly, the 90-year-old rhino fan who celebrated her birthday with KJ a few weeks ago? Well, today, she came back for an extra special treat! Not only did she get to meet the author of The Rhino Keeper, but she also received a signed copy of the book and got the chance to feed her favorite rhino, KJ! 🥳

It was a day full of smiles, rhinos, and unforgettable memories! Thank you, Beverly and Jillian Forsberg for being such a wonderful part of our Zoo family and for celebrating this day with us.

They may be experts at blending into the trees with their natural camouflage, but you won’t want to miss the chance to learn all about them. 🌳 Join our Education team between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Slawson Family Big Cat Trek for fun activities and cool facts about how we can help protect endangered red pandas and their habitats!

brought to you by none other than Alizeti! 😍 She’s been busy showing off her new favorite move - swinging like a pro! She’s also picking up on adult behaviors, eating more solids, and her baby run is getting FAST! 🏃‍♀️💨

As usual, we remain patient as she learns to develop the skills to transition to her outdoor habitat.

These playful cubs are thriving and doing everything bears should to progress! You can catch them daily from 9-11am and 1-3pm where they have full access to their habitat.

From September 20 to September 29, we’re teaming up with The Salvation Army USA for a Food Drive! 🥫 Drop off your canned goods and pantry items at the Zoo to help make a difference in our community. Every donation goes directly to those in need.

📍 Drop-off Location: SCZ Membership Office
🕒 Drop-off Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Items needed:
🥫 Canned veggies, fruits, and meats
🍝 Pasta & sauce
🥣 Cereal, oatmeal, "Helper" meal kits
🥜 Peanut butter, jelly (no glass jars please)

Her daughter shared this heartwarming photo, telling us how much she loves rhinos – and her up-close encounter with KJ was the highlight of her celebration. 🦏 Huge thanks to our amazing keepers for making her day unforgettable!

Happy 20th birthday to Faith, the Milking Devon Cow! 🎉🐄

As our oldest cow, Faith has become a true favorite here at the Farms. Her gentle nature and reliability make her a crowd-pleaser, and we recently discovered she loves bananas! 🍌 To celebrate, her keepers crafted a special cake with her favorite grains, bananas, and apples.

Be sure to stop by this week to say hi and wish her a happy birthday!

🚨 Important Zoo hours update! 🚨

In preparation for Zoobilee, the Zoo will be closed this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6 and 7. We will reopen at noon on Sunday, Sept. 8!

This brief closure is essential to give our staff time to set up for the biggest fundraiser of the year. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to welcome you back!
