Our Sous Chef is responsible for preparing food in accordance with federal, state, and local standards to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times. Our Sous Chef will provide positive leadership to the culinary team and execute the duties of the Executive Chef/Food & Beverage Manager in his absence.
What do I need for this role?

At least two (2) years Sous Chef Experience in a similar size facility, resort, or hotel.

Graduate of a Culinary Arts school or extensive prior experience in similar food preparation positions preferred.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have knowledge of special diets and all applicable local, state and federal regulations regarding food preparation.

Must be able to maintain positive relationships and interactions with guests and staff.

Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies. Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

To assist manager in developing all food and beverage profits. Responsible for hiring, promoting, supervising and disciplining all subordinate employees with the manager's acknowledgement as required. Assists General Manager in all departments such as purchasing, sanitation, maintenance, production training and service. Communicates on daily basis to manager any problems or situations that may be pertinent to the successful operation of the food and beverage department. Communicates with all hotel and restaurant management staff. To act as manager, supervise and run the operation in the absence of the Food and Beverage Manager.

Holiday Inn & Suites is looking for a hard working positive person to fill our cook position. You have to be flexible and able to muti task, be on your feet for long periods of time and work well in a team environment. Experience is a plus but not required. Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies. Preparing food for service (chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces) Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
