What are we thankful for this holiday season? Our new station and our incredibly supportive community! You can see both in the full video of our grand opening that took place earlier this month.
We just have to keep the celebration going! THANK YOU to our incredible Williamsburg community for making our new station's grand opening so special.
We just can't get over how beautiful our new station is!! These photos were taken by Amanda Running, the Vice President of GuernseyTingle who helped create this work of art!
Please join us in congratulating firefighter Nik Bartelt and firefighter John Sears on completing their probationary period and earning their new shields!
Nice work A-Shift!
This week we welcomed our new Fire Marshal Kenny Lamm. Chief Lamm comes to us from James City County Fire where he served as their Fire Marshal since 2020 and had been with the department for 24 years. Chief Lamm also participates in regional tech and marine response teams, as well as FEMA VA Task Force 2.
Please join us in welcoming Chief Lamm!
We have set up a station tour request form on our department website to help us meet the demand and ensure the continuity of our fire and EMS operations. While we work to determine a set schedule for tours, we ask for patience and understanding in meeting your requested times. Going forward we would like to ask for all seeking a tour, to please submit a request through our website.
Thank you!
The link is below:

We had a fantastic turnout for the grand opening of the Williamsburg Fire Station today! We were so happy to share our new home with all of you. Thank you for the support!
To those who couldn't make it: We are putting together a schedule for public tours. Keep an eye on this page for that announcement.
All three shifts (& their families) have been hard at work making our new station a home! B-shift had their first family dinner in the new station, so of course the kids had to break in the new recliners! Meanwhile A-shift and C-shift have been enjoying the extra space on our front and back ramps for training. We’ve also been busy setting up our EMS supply room, giving the new floor buffers a go, and doing final touches before our ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday!
We can’t wait to see you all on Wednesday at 10am for the ceremony and tours!!
⏰ Don't forget: The end of daylight saving time is this weekend!
This is a good time to check smoke detectors & other safety devices in your home. Check the batteries in your smoke & carbon monoxide detectors after changing the time on your clocks.
It’s been a big week for our department and an even bigger week for B-Shift! This week B-Shift celebrated firefighter Kyle Jaffee completing his probationary firefighter book and also completed the first official shift in the new station on October 30th!
Be sure to congratulate Kyle if you see him at our ribbon cutting ceremony on November 8th at 10am!
YOU'RE INVITED! Our grand opening for the Williamsburg Fire Station is next week! Join us at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 440 N. Boundary St. to celebrate this beautiful new station and to take a tour of the building. 🎉
Get low crawl under smoke!! The Pre-schoolers at Walnut Hills Baptist Church had fun learning about fire safety today. Our firefighters had lots of fun with the kids. Be Fire Safe!!
We are very thankful to have Beth as part of our team and proud of her for all she has accomplished!
Congratulations to Beth Eberhardt, assistant to the fire chief, on receiving the Excellence in Service Award! 👏
The Excellence in Service Award is an employee award for which City staff are nominated by their peers. Beth's contributions to the City reach far beyond the fire department. She has diligently worked to build up the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), served on the National Night Out Committee, and joined forces with her husband to train more than 50 City employees to become CPR/AED certified.
Thank you, Beth, for embodying the Williamsburg Way! We are so thankful for your dedication to public service.
One of the most important things for any of our personnel to know is their area. Knowing our response area helps us to respond in the quickest and safest manner. This morning C-Shift is working on drawing different residential areas from memory and labeling all the street names. After becoming proficient in street names, our personnel also work on learning hydrant and fire department connection (FDC) locations.
Be on the lookout for our personnel who are wearing pink! Williamsburg Fire Department proudly supports Breast Cancer Awareness month and will be wearing the pink shirts throughout October!🎀
Happy Fire Prevention Week!! Sparky is out to spread the word on cooking safety! Be safe out there!
One of the best parts of Fire Prevention Month is getting to spend so much time with the people in our community!
Thanks Williamsburg United Methodist Church for sharing this video!
St. Stephens Pre-School kicked off a Fire Safety program with a visit from C-Shift. You are never to young to learn about fire safety! Thank you students and staff at St. Stephens Pre-School for having us!!
Ciera Fenske was selected to serve as the Williamsburg Fire Department’s Battalion Chief-EMS. Chief Fenske’s promotion was effective October 1st. Chief Fenske will be responsible for leading our EMS operations that will encompass response, training, EMS billing, quality assurance and improvement, strategic planning and direction, supervision of the Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) program, EMS CIP management, and liaison with our Operational Medical Director, and other community partners and stakeholders. Congratulations Chief!

Only a few words need to be spoken from our hearts and minds to remember our brothers and sisters who paid the ultimate sacrifice 22 years ago. We will NEVER FORGET and will continue to serve in your honor.
