A couple pictures and a video of an interior crawlspace waterproofing project.

These were taken right after the trench was completed and the sump pump was installed.

As you’ll see in the video, we still had the trench dammed-up as the piping and gravel were about to be installed… and even still, the sump pump basin was already beginning to fill with groundwater seepage.

Projects like these are tackled by treating the floor system & infected areas of the basement with an EPA-registered disinfectant spray to kill all of the existing mold. One application kills allergy & disease-causing germs, fungi, odor-causing bacteria, mold, and mildew. The affected areas are scrubbed/sanded afterwards.

Industrial-grade air movers are used during the mold spray procedure to allow negative air flow out of the basement; which will remove disrupted, airborne mold spores.

After the mold treatment is complete, it will be strongly recommended to install a whole-home dehumidifier to prevent humidity, condensation, & mold from becoming a problem again in the future. Our whole-home units are installed with a condensation pump & PVC discharge line attached to the unit, expelling all collected water to the exterior of the home.

Depending on the project, the traditional approach of waterproofing a basement from the exterior may not be feasible.

In such cases, interior waterproofing could be recommended.

Interior basement waterproofing projects consist of removing aprx. (12") of the concrete floor along the foundation walls, creating a trench & exposing the footing. Once the trench is developed, weep holes are drilled in the CMU foundation walls beneath floor-level, relieving exterior hydrostatic pressure and any potential built-up moisture in the foundation walls themselves. Next, an interior drainage system is installed using (4") slotted piping (w. filter fabric) and layers of engineered stone to permanently control groundwater seepage. All piping will be installed at a negative-pitch, ensuring that all collected groundwater is sent directly to an industrial-grade sump pump, which ensures all collected water is diverted away from the home’s foundation.

All interior waterproofing projects are covered with a 25 year warranty.
