Jordyn Z Habit Change Coach
Empowering others, one habit at a time through accountability, knowledge and compassion.
This is a hard one for me. I don’t play enough! What do y’all do for play? I do consider my morning workouts a bit of play because I get to do them with such a fun group of women. And I love playing board games with my kids. But I’m think I need some new ideas ✨
It’s SMALL WIN WEDNESDAY! What are you celebrating today?
🔥✨P E R S I S T✨🔥
Funny Friday post (like in a funny/not funny kinda way). I fell this morning during my workout 😩 I was running down the boardwalk at CB beach as I’ve done many Friday mornings before and one little edge of a board got me. My toe hit it hard and I went down. HARD. Scuffed my ankle, scraped my knee, and bruised my glute (aka my juicy b***y).
I had a lovely group of women with me who took great care of me. They pulled me up and I limped on. I finished the workout 💪🏻 But y’all, four hours later, I feel like I’ve been in a car wreck 😂 I keep laughing when I think back on it because I can feel myself launching through the air in slow motion. That’s the funny part of I guess. Also, my kids throughly enjoy watching me limp around. I mean, falls are funny. And terrifying. And painful. I’m grateful nothing was twisted/sprained. I’m bruised and sore- nothing a long soak, some oils, and arnica can’t cure.
When was the last time you fell? Let’s all laugh and cry together at our pain today 😅
I had coffee with a friend today, someone I hadn't really talked with in a loooong time (this is your reminder to call that friend you've been thinking about connecting with and schedule a date!) She reminded me about the importance of being real, and making personal posts, instead of just curated superficial stuff.
So here I am! I'm not even sure what this post is about- I just needed to get it done. I want to say something profound or ask you all some deep question, but I got nothing. And in an hour I have to help my kid audition for a talent show, then scurry to pick up the other kid, then cook dinner and take the first kid to a rehearsal. That's my personal post today- at its finest. I think, I hope, the posts will get a bit deeper as I start to feel more comfortable sharing.
I am curious though...what's your limit on the extracurriculars? How do you gauge what's too much for you, or your kids? How do I find the balance between giving them experiences and avoiding burnout for us all?! I'm off to make a latte to get me through the next 8 hours 😵💫
I’m on a mini road trip, which inspired this post today. What is the hardest thing for you to stay consistent with while traveling? Mine is probably food 🤤🤦🏼♀️
Happy Monday! I’m working hard on staying present as some big life shifts happen. Trying not to focus on what was, what might have been, or what didn’t happen. I have so much to be happy about right now, and it’s important not to get distracted from that. What are you happy for having right now?
I had such a great experience as a GAL! They’re always looking for more volunteers.
Guardian ad Litem Program to host open house for potential volunteers The Guardian ad Litem Program at 320 Chestnut St. Suite 618 is inviting the community to an open house on Thursday, March 9 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Patterns are hard to break, and new patterns are hard to make. Getting to what’s below the surface can feel hard, uncomfortable and slow but it’s so worth it. Get curious! And if you need some guidance getting started - give me a call!
Happy Monday! I’d love to hear your thoughts on this one. What did you get by reaching a goal and what did you become? I’ll put mine in the comments.
Happy hump day! What win are you celebrating today? I’d love to see a thread full of small victories that we can all cheer for and be inspired by 👏🏻 What’s the one small thing you just absolutely nailed today?
I've just reached 100 followers! Thank you for continuing support. It means a lot that you’re here with me ❤️✨
It's that middle word, for me. Don't underestimate the power of resting! Do the work, but make sure there is time to recover. The body heals when it rests ✨
New blog post: the habit change coach who is all for not changing habits (on New Year's Day)
Happy New Year! Now, go back to bed. Here we are, at the start of yet another year. Are you feeling so energized, motivated, and ready to become a completely NEW PERSON in just a few days?!?! Yeah, me neither. Y'all...I used to fall for it. I used to think that if I couldn't change my habits on January 1st each year then there just was...
You would think that as a habit change coach I would be all "Let's do this! It's the New Year and it's time to change your habits and be the best YOU possible!!" and while that's all good and fine, it's also winter. It's like prime hibernation time. Mercury is in retrograde🙈 It's cold. It's dark. And it's difficult to just summon the motivation to start changing your habits and routines!
So here's what I think...
I'm a fan of setting intentions. I'm all for reflecting on what is going well and what needs to change. I believe in slow progress, not quick perfection. We are all continuously changing! It's not like you're going to pick some new habits for 2023 and then suddenly just stop evolving, changing, or working on yourself at the end of the year. Life ebbs and flows, and sometimes all we can do is lie on our backs and enjoy floating on the waves🌊
Give it time. This is your permission to start the new year with some rest, peace, and calm ✨ Don't put pressure on yourself to change all the things starting on day one- it's just a day with a name (and a social construct!) When you are ready- and you'll know when you are- give me a call and let's work together on what YOU know you need to change! If you know that now, great! If not, keep following me for some tips, tricks, and motivation until you are ready. Because change only happens when you are ready for it- not because it's January 1st. Feel free to use the questions below as a starting point if you're on the edge of needing to make some shifts. Or, save it for later.
Happy New Year Friends! 🎉
Merry Christmas Y’all!
Happy Monday Friends! This is one of my all time favorite quotes. Giving ourselves the time to make the choice can make all the difference, and it’s especially important during such a busy holiday season. Whether it’s replying to an invite, responding to an emotional child, staring down yet another holiday treat, taking a walk- or a nap, or anything else. We make thousands of decisions a day, and often in a hurried fashion. Slow down when you can. Lean into the literal darkness of this season and take a moment to let yourself *feel* what’s right. How have you slowed down lately?
You’re welcome.

Jimmy Fallon recently asked people to respond to with mistakes they'd love to have not made. Who wants to get cringey with me and share theirs? Mine is in the comments... 🙈
