The pediatric dental team of Dr. Dimock, Dr. Weinberg and Dr. Cherry is committed to provide your child with a positive dental experience while rendering excellence in total oral health care. To us, going to the dentist is about more than having teeth cleaned or cavities filled. Our child friendly practice provides a secure learning environment for children ages 0 – 18. We emphasize the importance
During sports and other physical activity, it's important to remember to protect teeth and dental work with mouthguards. Not using a mouthguard can result in broken teeth, damaged gums, and other oral injuries. Protect your teeth!
When life gets busy, it's easy to grab a bag of chips or a cookie as a snack, but we all know that these foods are not the best option for growing smiles. To make healthier choices easier, try preparing fresh fruit and veggies at the beginning of the week! Cutting fresh produce and storing them in snack-sized containers makes it easy for kids to grab and go when in a rush.
🌀🪥🦷Our Wilmington and Leland Office will be closed today, August 8th, due to inclement weather. We will resume normal hours Monday, August 12th at 8:20am. Everyone stay safe and have a wonderful weekend.🦷🪥🌀

Did you know that it's usually best to wait a few minutes after you eat before brushing? Certain foods, especially ones that are highly acidic and can make enamel soft. A quick rinse with water can help restore your mouth's pH and wash away any remaining food.
Did you know that teeth can be up to three times stronger than bone? Even still, they need gentle brushing from a soft-bristled toothbrush. Take good care of your child's teeth to keep them strong and healthy!

Are you replacing your childs toothbrush after being sick? Even after a small cold, you should change your childs toothbrush for a clean one to reduce the chance of them getting sick again!
The average person only spends less than one minute per day brushing their teeth! That’s well below the recommended 2 minutes, 2 times a day. We recommend setting a clock, watching a short video, or using a toothbrush with a built in timer! Happy brushing!
Today we celebrated our 2024 Best of Wilmington Award as an office. Our Doctors and Staff are all so grateful for every patient and parent that we’ve had the privilege of treating over the past 20 years. Thank YOU for voting us best pediatric dentist in Wilmington!!!!
Everyone loves potato chips at a summer barbecue, but starchy foods can build up between your teeth and get stuck in hard-to-reach places. Better options for munching include carrots, apples, and other cut-up veggies. You may be surprised to watch the veggies disappear when set out during play—even with the pickiest of eaters! Whatever your family snacks on, don't forget to brush for two minutes twice a day!
Did you know that dental sealants can reduce the risk of tooth decay by up to 80%? These thin, protective coatings are applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth, where they form a shield against food particles and bacteria. Sealants are not only incredibly effective but also one of the most cost-efficient ways to prevent childhood cavities, providing years of protection with a quick, painless application. Invest in your child's dental health with sealants and give them a happy, healthier smile!

A quick reminder that it may be time for a new toothbrush! Toothbrushes should be replaced around every three months or before bristles become frayed. When choosing a toothbrush for your child, be sure to pick one made for smaller hands and a head size made for smaller mouths. Soft bristles are usually the best choice!

One of the most common causes of early decay in children is "baby bottle decay." This usually comes from children having frequent access to liquids other than water outside feeding times. Even diluted juice can give cavity-causing bacteria everything they need to grow. Water is best!
Did you know that raw, fibrous, and leafy vegetables can help keep teeth clean? Foods such as broccoli, apples, celery, and carrots. Regardless of what you’re eating, don’t forget the best tooth tip: brush two times every day for two minutes!

One of the goals of brushing 2 times a day is to prevent and remove plaque from your teeth, but plaque is pretty soft! Brushing too hard only serves to wear down your mouth's natural defenses and can actually lead to bigger problems down the road. Toothpaste is abrasive enough, so let it do the hard work!
Here's to the dads who go above and beyond! Your dedication, sacrifices, and unwavering support make all the difference. Today, we celebrate you and all the special moments we share. Happy Father's Day!
Seeing double today at the office! 😲 Our staff had some fun tricking the doctors with Ellie and her twin sister. Double the smiles, double the fun! Just remember, keep it sugar-free like Doublemint gum! 😜🦷
Frequent consumption of soft drinks is the leading cause of tooth decay in older kids, teens, and young adults. Water is always the best choice!
Most store-bought popsicles contain lots of sugar and unhealthy additives. So why not make your own? Your kids will love these healthy popsicles, perfect for the summer heat.

Over-the-counter teeth whitening products aren't meant for children. They can wear away enamel, cause tooth sensitivity, and can harm teeth and gums. If you're concerned about your child's smile, give us a call! And for a natural way to brighten teeth, try eating apples, strawberries, or celery - all proven to whiten smiles and help keep teeth healthy!
