🇮🇪Mary’s Irish Roots🇮🇪

Mary immigrated from Ireland at the age of 19 and later fell in love with & married Paul. Mary & Paul came together to form the small business we are so proud of today, Porch Concepts. However, Mary came from humble beginnings in Ireland! A fond memory of Mary’s follows.

“I walked into the showroom the other day and one of our design consultants, Rachel, said to me “the flowers you planted outside the building are beautiful”. My mind immediately went back to my childhood in the west of Ireland. I had a great teacher; my mother. Back then there were no such thing as garden stores, they did not yet exist. We grew everything from seed from the flowers of the year before. My mother had the most beautiful garden in the village, lots of color and admired by all of the village. The children took great pride in the garden as it pleased Mom. I was the youngest of ten and the labor was cheap. We all learned that flowers do something for the psyche. Lots of smiles, chats, bees & butterflies. These memories will never be erased. Thank you Mom, for being a great teacher.
