You're invited to join me for the opening reception of my new work at Art In Bloom on Sunday, December 10th, from 2-5pm.
The monoprints featured in Unus Mundus, Latin for One World, encapsulate the idea of a domain located outside of time and space, from which everything emerges and to which everything returns. Initiated during the height of the pandemic. it was created in honor of the millions of souls who transcended their earthly bodies during this time.
Gallery is now located in Mayfair Town Center, Wilmington, NC. The exhibit dates are from November 24th - January 7th.

Society for Photographic Education is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our friend and colleague Jerry Uelsmann. Jerry was a pioneer in photography and a true icon. His contributions to the field through his work, as an artist and educator, are an inspiration. He was among the 28 attendees at the Invitational Teaching Conference in November 1962 in Rochester, New York, which led to the founding of SPE. His leadership helped shape our organization. We are so grateful for Jerry's service, friendship, kindness, and willingness to continually push boundaries. We are so lucky that he shared his imagination, passion, and discoveries with us.

Yay Josh!!!!

Cape Fear Camera Club recently presented their 2020 Scholarship Award to Joshua Harrell, a photography student at Cape Fear Community College.

Joshua is an Army Veteran of eight years, whose interest in the arts was put on hold while he served his country. Once he enrolled at Cape Fear Community College he discovered his love of photography and the desire to create work that would awaken emotions in viewers.

He plans to attend Savannah College of Art and Design this fall to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design with a Minor in Photography. Says Joshua, “I would really like to work for a company where I could incorporate my photography into graphic design.”

Cape Fear Camera Club has been awarding Scholarship Awards to photography students since 2006. Recipients have been identified and recommended by photography teachers as students who have made significant progress in the study of photography. The purpose of the award is to acknowledge and reward their accomplishments and to promote the art of photography.
