What a YEAR. It has been a loooong year with sooo much going on for me. So much growth, happiness, stress, and everything in between. I enjoyed getting a little personal and giving an honest look at some things in my life and about me this year. I hope some of this feels relatable and you enjoy ❤️

The process of opening a salon with my bestie….. as a cyclical being 🩸 ⁣

We, as menstruators, are not 👏🏻 meant 👏🏻 to 👏🏻 be 👏🏻 the same every day of our cycle. ⁣
⁣
We have inward energy + outward energy in different phases in our cycle. ⁣
⁣
I’m checking in on day 21 right now… luteal phase - I’m moving into my inward phase - my inner autumn phase.⁣
⁣
Knowing this - I understand that last Friday when I was on day 14 - I had the energy to pump out alllll the things. The website copy, branding colors and fonts, announcements, commenting back and forth with people, going to ikea and buying furniture. All the outward CREATIVE 🎨 SOCIAL things!! ⁣
⁣
I’m not that today.⁣
Today, on day 21, it’s time to start getting down to the tasks that need to get done. ⁣
The ordering of products, budgeting, organizing….. tasks that don’t require being outward.⁣
⁣
I also recognize where my business partner is in her cycle….. we are both in our inward phase of our cycle. (You know, where people say PMS 🙄) So knowing that, I can allow her more space. We both need more space at this time. ⁣
We can move through decisions slower, calm our nervous systems, nourish ourselves mind body soul.⁣
⁣
Because…. As we know!! We’re eventually going to bleed….. rest…. And have more summer outward energy in our next cycle. We don’t have to rush right now. ⁣

It takes alll the foils, the perfect foil placement, the small sections, the teasing, the root melts….. it can all be very tedious and meticulous. ⁣
But, the result! ⁣

It seems we are landing in late summer. ⁣
Can you feel the shift? ⁣
Are you looking to get back into your normal routines? ⁣
Do you feel sadness, grief, or irritation that summer is “over”? ⁣

We have this same feeling after we ovulate. It’s the void of menstruation. 🩸 ⁣
⁣
This feeling of, “Oh no! My peak is over in this cycle….. time to go inward.” ⁣
Your body realizes…. oh wait, we didn’t get to create a baby this cycle 😔 and you can feel an emotional shift before your luteal phase. ⁣
There can be feelings of despair, grief and irritability after ovulation, similar to after summer feels.
⁣
These feelings after summer and after ovulation are parallel because like the outer seasons, we have inward seasons as well.⁣
Because we are cyclical beings. ⁣
We are of the earth, not on it.⁣
⁣
SOOO… Now what?? Notice how you feel, digest it! ⁣
It is a time of reflection and learning!!
Notice how you can receive and gain clarity in this outer season of late summer. ⁣
⁣

A job I’ve done for 10 years. Cultivating interpersonal relationships with women.⁣

I have been surrounded by women since day one. ⁣

So naturally then, I felt the pull to dive deep into everything I could learn about women’s wisdom.⁣

The menstrual cycle. ⁣

What it has to teach us, how to live cyclically, how we are of nature. A knowing that already lives within us. ⁣

My purpose is to activate women. ⁣

I lean into that by listening, allowing women to share their stories, surrounding myself with women, teaching the wisdom I’ve learned, and observing the brilliance of those around me. ⁣
