Heartworm infections on the rise!
We're seeing an increase in heartworm positive cases! Remember it only takes one infected mosquito for the cycle to begin. Our doctors and the American Heartworm Society recommend keeping your pet on heartworm prevention all year long!! **Look closely above the microscope pointer, you'll see a "baby heartworm" (microfilaria) moving around. This is a heartworm positive patient's blood sample**

We have been getting a lot of questions about the mysterious illness reported by the news and would like to share what we know this far. We invite you to watch the webinar below regarding this matter. For parents that utilize services at The Lodge, please be assured that we take all possible precautions to minimize the occurrence of airborne illness including patient screenings, immunization requirements and sanitation protocols. However, there is no way to prevent the spread of upper respiratory disease 100%.
