We had a chance to welcome Girl Scout troop for “Ocha Experience” at Ankeny yesterday. It was delighted to show them how to make a bubble tea and talking about running a business. Many of them had the bubble tea for the first time, and they said it was yummy 😋

Happy Birthday to our youngest team member, Isabelle!!! We hope your birthday is as fantastic as you are!

Throughout the year, I have many people asking about having their kids under 16 works at Ocha, but I need to politely turn it down because I am afraid that if things don’t work well, it will like we are throwing the kid under the bus for their first job experience. Later, I decide to create “the paid internship program” during summer for a team member who under 16 years old and Isabelle is the first one that we have.

Like the others, Isabelle needed to fill in a job application, go through a job interview, and start the training with the condition that she may have a limit access to some kind of jobs, and if she has some issues that concern about working ethics, her parents shouldn’t get involved. We expected her deal with grace and dignity in a professional work setting. Isabelle did her job very well, so after her internship completed, we offered her a part time job that allow her to still focus on her class and school activities. Till now, Isabelle still performs all her tasks very well. That is the reason why we are so proud of her. I also would like to take this opportunity to thank Jaxon, our store manager, and all senior team member who trained Isabelle during the internship period. Thank you for being a good role model to her.
