W.O.R.D. Society will be back in the building dropping some Barz.

DJ Micki Blendz will be one the 1s & 2s. Always putting on a show and helping our hosts LB The Poet and Mr Petty move the crowd!

And as we get ready for the school year we are featuring a special group of artists that are assisting the next generation to find and use their voices.

India Reaves has turned obstacles into opportunities for community transformation. With a teaching career spanning 15 years, India has excelled in educating thousands of young minds and shaped strategic educational policies. Her work includes the creation of a district-wide comprehensive African American history curriculum and initiatives to retain educators of color. A 2023 recipient of the prestigious Public Policy New Voices Fellowship, she works globally to enhance diversity in public policy.

Tia Buster is a mother, educator and poet. Tia started writing as a teen, and went on to perform spoken word later in her adult life with Otesha Creative Arts Ensemble. She is currently an English/IB Literature instructor at Parkland High School here in Winston Salem and Site Director for P.U.S.H 21, a non-profit afterschool enrichment program powered by Achieve Arts Academy.

Nicole Wolfe is a Winston-Salem native that left a career as tech writer to pursue a career in teaching. She is an English teacher at Parkland and works alongside LB with his WORD Academy program.

Joining us on stage this Friday! Tiffany Wilson will be with us Painting Live. You get to watch the painting come alive and the opportunity to bid on the piece during the auction at the end of the night.

Tiffany is a self-taught artist who started off drawing comic strip characters from the Sunday Washington Post and moved on to TV show characters. After mastering illustrations using markers, her talents have expanded to other mediums and she currently enjoys painting with acrylics.

Heavily influenced by late artists like Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring and Andy Warhol alongside current artists like Kaws, Matt Gondek, and Hebru Brantley, have pushed her work into the pop art realm.

Her work has been featured in a few art shows and local exhibitions such as 311 Gallery in downtown Raleigh and Greenhill Arts in Greensboro along with publications in Voyage Raleigh, Bold Journey and TrapxArt Digital Magazine. She wants her work to continue to inspire those drawing cartoons and bring nostalgia to her viewers. Her love for cartoons will never go away.

Soultriii will be bringing soulful vibes as our musical act.

Soultriii is North Carolina's first hybrid band. Refusing to be confined to one musical genre. Soultriii has the ability to perform any genre of music: R&B, Neo-Soul, Pop, Rock, etc. You name it, they rock it.

🗣️ Spoken word performances from WORD Society .society, Tia Buster , India Reaves and Nicole Wolfe.
🎧 Sounds by DJ Micki Blendz will keep the energy high all night.

We are so excited to announce this lineup of powerhouse artists that will be lighting up the stage!

TuKool Tiff is an artist from Charlotte North Carolina who is known for her lyricism, incredible flows, and unique approach to hip hop! TuKool Tiff strives to not only be great at what she does from rap to singing; songwriting to producing but point the listeners to Jesus while doing so.

Flower In Bloom flowerinbloom33 has been a featured artist with us in the previous two seasons.
Through the brilliant balance of thoughtful, sincere lyrics with atmospheric and playful sounds, Flower hopes her listeners will relate their own experiences and feel empowered, to know that they are seen and not alone. Check out her latest project, Crisis Averted, that dropped late last year.

Ely B .elyb is an poet, a curator, and now an author. Her book, Ely B(e) Speaking is a cultivation of Self Love for a Journey To The Land of MF'ing Queenin!
It is now available for pre-order.

Ashlee C will be making her debut appearance on the Lyrics By The Lake stage. She is a Spoken Word Artist, Writer, and Author.

Damien Mathis will be Live Painting with us again this Friday! You will definitely want to come down near the stage to get a closer look. An auction will take place at the end of the evening for the final piece.

Painter and sculptor, Damien Mathis, is a Fayetteville, North Carolina native and resident, and an avid Detroit Fine Arts Breakfast Club member. A Marine Corp Combat veteran, Mathis served two tours in Afghanistan with 1/6 Bravo Infantry Battalion before earning a Bachelor’s in Visual Arts from HBCU, Fayetteville State University. Mathis recalls drawing as a child even before he learned to write, but only began painting eight years ago, in his early twenties. His art has since been collected and exhibited throughout the U.S., including the Art Council of Fayetteville, the Harlem Fine Arts Show, Fayetteville University, and A&T.
