Making a road trip?

Our hotel is conveniently located off of Exit 189 for I-40, and with our location by Stratford and Hanes Mall Blvd, it's a great place to connect with the rest of Winston-Salem during your stay.

When celebrating our 30th anniversary, we went and found old progress photos from when our hotel was originally built, and an old photo of one of our rooms!

Everything around the hotel and many ways we decorate have certainly changed over the years here in Winston-Salem.

We are mourning the loss of Randy, our head night auditor. He was a part of our Hampton family for almost 25 years. Randy was reliable, dedicated and exceptional at his job. He’s described as a big brother figure, enjoyed talking about sports, and had some great “dad jokes”. He was so proud of his children and loved his wife very much. It’s hard to find the right words to even express how much he meant to us. He’s loved by all of us here and we miss him tremendously.

Celebrate Pi Day by putting together a local classic: Moravian Pie!

🥧 Ingredients you will need: 🥧
A 3-pound chicken, two chicken breasts, a quartered yellow onion, a quartered stalk of celery, a bay leaf, 1 teaspoon garlic salt, 1 package of chicken bouillon seasoning, 3 tablespoons butter, salt & pepper, 2 tablespoons flower, and one 2-crust refrigerated pie crust.

📃 The Recipe 📃
Preheat oven to 450°F.

In a stockpot, cover chicken with water, add onion, celery, bay leaf, garlic salt, and bouillon cube. Bring to a boil, then simmer for at least 1 hour until chicken is tender.

Remove chicken and cool. Strain broth, saving it with fat. Discard vegetables.

Once cooled, remove skin and bone from chicken, cut into bite-size pieces.

Line a 9-inch pie pan with pastry round. Fill with chicken, pour broth over, add floating fat. Dot with butter, season with salt, pepper, and sprinkle with flour.

Cover with second pastry round, seal edges, cut slits. Spread remaining fat over the crust, dot with butter.

Bake at 450°F for 20 minutes, then reduce to 375°F and bake for 1 more hour.

Getting to sit by the fireplace and enjoy the outdoors is a relaxing way to enjoy the fresh air.
