Rehab Builders, Inc. is a design-build construction company specializing in the rehabilitation of buildings eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places and multi-family new construction. Based in Winston-Salem, N.C., we are licensed general contractors in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Texas. The Accounts Payable Clerk assists and reports directly to the Controller. We are looking for someone with a strong desire to enter the construction accounting field. The Accounts Payable Clerk must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Processing of all payables including scanning to electronic files and uploading to project management approval software (XRM)
• Upon project management approval, enter all invoices into accounting software (Sage 300 CRE – formerly known as Timberline)
• Pay approved payables weekly
• File paid invoices
• Reconcile vendor provided monthly statements
• Work with subcontractors to obtain proper payment requisitions and accompanying paperwork
• Request and maintain subcontractor and vendor W-9 forms and insurance certificates
• Update and maintain company vehicle listing/records and process monthly equipment usage records
• Build and maintain positive relationships with contractors, suppliers and company field personnel

Job Skills & Abilities:
• Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
• MS Excel, Word, Outlook; prefer experience with Sage 300
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Math/accounting skills
• Functions effectively as part of a team
• Dependability
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Good time management skills and organizational skills
• Education and/or Experience:
o Minimum of Associate Degree in Accounting
o And/or 5 years of industry experience
• Conversational Spanish is helpful although not a requirement

Hackney Hall, a 1960s-era four-story residence hall at Barton College, has been renovated from the ground up by Rehab Builders, Inc.

Hackney Hall now boasts 72 private bedroom/bathroom suite combinations. New HVAC, electrical, plumbing, storefront windows and an elevator were installed.

CommunitySmith has transformed several properties on the Northeastern corner of the intersection of E. 5th St. and Cotanche St. in Greenville, NC. These properties now offer tenants an attractive space for retail and office space between East Carolina University and Uptown Greenville.

This redevelopment will lead the way in transforming an underperforming area into an exciting and vibrant block, promoting healthy, vibrant growth for the city.

The Wilson Furniture Company Lofts’ building had been vacant for decades and deteriorating before redevelopment efforts started. The building was first used as a hardware store and became the location for the Wilson Furniture Company in 1915.

The project to restore the building, originally constructed sometime between 1893 and 1897, is the second for CommunitySmith and Rehab Development in downtown Wilson, N.C.

Renovation efforts on this historic downtown property were completed by Rehab Builders, Inc. Construction included the conversion of the building into five apartments, including three one-bedroom, one two-bedroom and one one-bedroom live/work space.
