We are excited to announce that Kara Yates is now our Director of Development. Kara is not a new face to the house - she has been a dedicated member of our development staff since 2021. Prior to becoming a staff member, Kara began her involvement with the Family House as a meal volunteer and served as a member of our Finance Committee for many years. It’s 🍎 🍏 season! And the Tyree family dropped off homemade apple pies 🥧 along with some other fun snacks. Thank you for showing love and southern hospitality to our guests. 💕

A big thank you to these Wake Forest University School of Medicine students who baked delicious muffins and cookies for our guests this weekend. And bonus, the house smelled AMAZING.

♥️ Lindley and Eve had a fantastic time meeting students and sharing volunteer opportunities at the student engagement fair at Winston-Salem State University this week. 🐏

We are looking for volunteers to host local and virtual "TP the House" drives for the month of October. It's e-a-s-y. We provide the posters, boxes, and QR codes, and you provide the TP and other paper products. Not local? No problem. Did you know that most of our fresh fruit is donated by our local Food Lion on Hawthorne Road?

They donate apples, oranges, bananas, and other seasonal selections of fruit twice weekly. Our guests greatly appreciate the nutritious options! We are so thankful for this healthy and delicious partnership.
