Our favorite trail is memory lane, and on this adventure, we’re reflecting back on May of 2012 during Diane Van Deren’s MST expedition.

“With 63 miles to go, Diane Van Deren will catch her breath today and enjoy the Outer Banks that treated her so harshly the day before. Her plan as of 7:30 this morning is to put in 30 to 35 miles today, then finish her MST Endurance Run Friday morning. That would put her at 23 days and change, breaking the record Mountains-to-Sea Trail crossing of 24 days, 3 hours and 50 minutes set the year prior by Matt Kirk.

The recovery day is well-deserved after yesterday’s 50-mile-long battle with Tropical Storm Beryl, which regained strength and lingered into the evening on the Outer Banks.

“Yesterday,” support team member Joel Fleming said this morning, “Diane really proved why she’s a North Face athlete. She was a machine.”“

Our friends at Osprey have donated 100 backpacks to this mission, and we’ve been able to supply an additional 50 packs from The North Face! We’re excited to fill these packs with everything these kids need to get back to school and have a successful academic year. 🎒📓📝

We had a blast last night at for the Annual Bandages & Brews: Stayin’ Alive in the Outdoors event. This is always a great opportunity to discuss first aid, injuries, and how to stay safe in the outdoors.

Talk about Carp Diem, am I right? The cicadapocalypse has worked its magic for Category Manager Scott & Paddlesports Operations Manager Austin!

After Scott & Austin wrapped up fly fishing classes for this season, they decided to try the challenge of catching the grass carp. Not having a big enough net wasn’t a problem. Austin waded out to pick it up and 15 minutes later, we have these pictures to prove it! 🙌
