It has been so long since I’ve made the time to paint/restore any furniture. A sudden move this past month forced me to paint a bunch of furniture in a hurry to be able to use it in my new place. I wish I had gotten a before picture, but this is now in my daughter’s room. I know that some people have strong feelings about painting over antique furniture, but trust me, in this case it was my only option. This bed once belonged to my great-grandparents and then my dad used it until he passed away. He was a heavy smoker, and it took a lot of cleaning, sanding, and many coats of paint to get this bed back in good condition. I’m so glad that it continues to stay in our family 💕.

I've seen women insist on cleaning everything in the house before they could sit down to write... and you know it's a funny thing about housecleaning... it never comes to an end. Perfect way to stop a woman. A woman must be careful to not allow over-responsibility (or over-respectabilty) to steal her necessary creative rests, riffs, and raptures. She simply must put her foot down and say no to half of what she believes she should be doing. Art is not meant to be created in stolen moments only.

I just added a fresh batch of and hand-painted earrings to my booth inside 💙. They are lightweight and make a great stocking-stuffer🎄!

Most non-stitching folks are unaware of what a time-consuming process it can be. For context, this “C” took me two hours 😳. It is only a very small part of a piece that I am working on as a Christmas gift, which will have taken over a month to complete once it’s finished. And that’s with me HUSTLING! So, if you are ever lucky enough to receive a hand-stitched piece from someone, know that it is basically priceless and that someone putting that kind of time into this gift for you is a huge act of love! ❤️

It’s my husband’s birthday weekend, and therefore he gets to pick whatever he wants to do. One of his choices today was to visit The Garage on 25! Lately, when I’m there I’m usually rushing in and out to add something to my booth. It was really nice today to be able to take my time and see some of the amazing things that my fellow vendors have to offer!
