We can’t wait to shout this out and praise the Lord together this weekend for our first services of 2024! 🙌

The book of Romans is often viewed as the key book of the New Testament when it comes to what the Gospel means for both our eternity and our everyday lives.

But it also can be one of the most confusing to read.

For the first half of 2024, we’re going to slow down and walk chapter by chapter through this letter from Paul so we can discover together exactly how powerful the work of Jesus on the cross is to every piece of our lives – today, tomorrow, and forever.

On Sunday we looked at Joseph’s example in Matthew 1 of how to choose to trust in God’s promises and presence for provision when we are afraid.

1️⃣ Preach the gospel to your fears. (v.21)

2️⃣ Preach God’s Word to your fears. (vs.22-23)

3️⃣ Preach perseverance to your fears. (vs.24-25)

If you’ve been in any of our services over the last month, you’ve seen the video about our Make and Mobilize Initiative this year. If you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, you can check it out at salemchapel.org/makeandmobilize

This Sunday, December 10, is when we’ll be taking up our special offering in both services to raise the funds to expand the outdoor recreation area and increase the safety around our new spaces for the people God is going to bring to use them.

Our goal is for every person - young or not-so-young - who calls Salem Chapel home to participate in this service.  Here’s how you can participate:

1) Cash and quarters - Salem Kids and Thrive are participating in this Initiative by collecting cash and quarters. We want to give the children and teenagers an opportunity to feel a part of giving to these new spaces they will benefit from and other children as well.   Your children can bring their donation to their environments through December 10th. Each environment has a bucket set up for them to drop off their donation. On December 17th, either Lori or Phil will get a pie in the face. It all depends on whether Salem Kids or Thrive collected more in donations. This is just a fun way to celebrate what God has done.

2) Check - if you’re giving by check, make sure to put Make & Mobilize Initiative (or MMI) in the memo line so we can make sure your gift gets to the right place.

3) Online - we know not everyone carries cash or checks. If you’re wanting to give online, make sure you choose the Make and Mobilize Initiative in the drop down menu.

We can’t wait to see what God is going to do through you and the entire Salem Chapel family this weekend.

𝑫𝒐 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝑩𝒆 𝑨𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒅 • A Christmas Series

Everywhere we turn, there’s something new and scary happening in the world. Unprecedented times lead us to fear what might come next.

But fear isn’t new and we’re not the first ones to experience anxiety in the midst of a crazy world around us.

The characters in all our favorite Christmas stories – Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds, and the Wise Men – all received information that shook up their lives and caused them to fear. This December, we’re going to look at their stories and see how the Angel of the Lord invited them not to fear, but rather to trust in what the Lord had declared.

We invite you to join us so you can begin to develop the faith needed to not be afraid of what the future holds but instead hold fast to the promises God has for you.
