The next time you visit our website, you may notice some changes to our main menu. One of those is that there is now a page for Used LP Inventory.

This is something I’ve been quietly experimenting with for the past few weeks and am ready to take to the next level.

It is important to note: this is very much a work in progress. Adding used inventory to the website is time intensive (requiring photo taking, etc). I’ve begun with simply adding some of our used inventory that has already been in stock for a few weeks and will be continuing to build that online stock each week. It is something I arm doing on Mondays and Tuesdays while the store is closed.

Once I feel we’ve got a bit more thorough of a foundation in place, I’ll begin experimenting with adding some more recently priced items from the store on the website. It is important to note that used albums just posted to social media within the past few days will NOT yet be showing up on the website. They remain available in-store only at first.

Adding these items to the website takes a lot of time and is something I have to balance with the dozens of other things that need attention every day, but I’ll be doing my best to grow it each week.

Running a small business is — quite frankly — an enormous challenge right now and it’s been a very tough year thus far. Thank you for all your support.

If you missed it, all new LPs already marked 40% off in the shop have seen their discount increase to 65% off this week only AND in-store only.

I went around the shop this morning and pulled all eligible albums and consolidated them into one section for easier perusing. There are albums in this section from every genre we carry.

Between connectivity issues and virtually no one out (for good reason!), and the forecast suggesting things will worse again this evening before they get better, we’re pulling the plug on this day. Back for regular hours tomorrow. Closed at 3 pm today.

Today … is not a pretty day.

But you can reap the benefits of shopping at your local independent record shop even on days like this. Here are just a few of the recent releases that are on variants exclusive to independent record shops like ours, and they’re all on our website as well. Purchases can be made for free local pickup for when the weather subsides or flat rate shipping; we also ship domestic orders of $100+ for free.

We plan to be open at the shop today unless we lose power — and I see on Duke’s website that about 1k customers in the downtown area are already without power — and we already have no internet so we’ll just be playing it by ear today.

Ok, here’s the deal. Our store computer died at 10 minutes til closing last night. It’s done, a paperweight.

I was able to secure another computer and get it set up before opening this morning but our point-of-sale software won’t accept/activate my license, so until I can (hopefully) get it rectified, I’m going to have to do everything by hand today.

If you want to see a grown man having a nervous breakdown, it’s a great day to come to the shop.
