It’s official! I’ll be facilitating an Integrative Breathwork session at the Belize International Yoga Festival.
I’ve also filled my guided tour of Belize that follows the festival. We’ll be posting photos of our adventures so stay tuned AND consider joining me in 2025!

Brilliant suggestions by Pamela Miles: Reiki, Medicine and Self-Care! It never ceases to amaze me that when I am open about my work, doctors, nurses, my dentist, even the veterinarian share their questions or REALLY surprise me by telling me they’d love to come to a Sound Bath, learn Breathwork or MOST SURPRISING…that they LOVE Reiki!!

A Neurologist once told me his mother was a Reiki Teacher. My current Dermatologist comes once a week for Reiki and so on. Pamela is right, talk to your local politicians, you have the ability to open the door for MANY!!

It’s primary season in the U.S., and political candidates are showing up at farmers markets to get your vote.

This is a wonderful opportunity to introduce yourself and learn about their perspective.

You might also mention to them that you rely on Reiki practice and other noninvasive, and therefore unregulated, traditional health and wellness practices to support your (and your family’s) health and well-being.

The point is not to try to convert them to Reiki practice, but rather to start making them familiar with the idea of noninvasive home healthcare practices.

Avoid using the term Alternative Medicine, because these practices are not replacing conventional medicine but rather supporting your health and whatever medical procedures are needed.

People aren’t practicing Reiki or other non-invasive practices instead of getting medical care.

That’s an important point to keep in mind. You may or may not have a chance to mention it.

It’s wise to speak about the field of holistic health generally, and not just Reiki practice.

Also, if you’re a Reiki professional, you don’t need to mention that. Then it sounds like you’re trying to protect your financial interest.

Your state legislators’ job is to protect the interests of their constituents overall, not the financial interests of specific professional groups (that’s what lobbyists do).

Instead, speak as someone who practices Reiki for self and family care. Make sense?

As a community, we have successfully fought against unnecessary regulation in Massachusetts six times, and in Texas, New Jersey, and Oregon. Meanwhile, restrictions have become law in Vermont and Utah, so this is a situation we need to be monitoring and actively engaged in.
