⚠️ New construction and blunt speak trigger warning ⚠️ 😂 AND BY ALL MEANS, SHARE THIS!

Why do we we ask our potential clients about leaks, moldy spots, etc. on their interior while we are providing a consult for exterior? This is why...

Here's another fine example of ridiculously sh*tty new construction that the builder refused to own-up-to and repair...

Upon consulting with our potential client, they noted to us that their garage was leaking into the interior drywall which of course, D.R. Horton Orlando cared NOTHING about repairing under warranty. So, not to mention the awful sloppy and cheap, watered-down, half-ass exterior paint job done by a 6th grader that only lasted a couple of years, it was leaking.

Upon our initial consult, we had taken note that the Hardie siding was missing a piece of z-channel flashing and it also seemed to be installed incorrectly. The fact that the "painter" noted the issue within 30 mins while the builder couldn't tell the difference between their ass and their elbow is a bit concerning to say the least.

Luckily for us both, we got the job after the consult. I'm fairly certain that we were the only company to note and willingly WANT to address the issues at hand.

Fast forward to the start of the job, our team climbed up on some ladders and noted the issues.

Here is the photo-dump of finding the issue, pulling the Hardie, noting the water intrusion, waterproofing the exposed block, installing the z-channel flashing, sealing it with a roofing cement, properly installing the Hardie again, puttying the screw holes that unfortunately had to happen, and caulking all of the joints - prior to final paint.

This is proof that there is so much more than spraying a light coat of cheap paint on a home. This is Florida, you want it waterproofed and prepped correctly in every single way! 💪🏻

Oh, and the fact that Waterleigh at Horizon West Winter Garden Waterleigh Luxury Water Side Homes at Horizon West Winter Garden wants you to paint every 3-5 years is a testimate to a complete lack of knowledge, ignorance or an admission to the absolute horrendous "quality" of most homes found there. It could also be the vicious cycle of constantly hiring cheap and mediocre tradespeople creating a false sense that the exterior of homes in Florida need painting every 3 years. We put a MINIMUM 6 year warranty on our paint jobs because we do them correctly in the first place! No one else in the area will warranty an exterior above 2 years! Why? Because they lack confidence in their work.

📣Painters, STOP BEING SLOPPY HACKS AND TAKE OFF THE SHUTTERS!📣
There are many reason that we are not a cheap blow-n-go paint company! Doing things correctly takes time and plenty of materials. For instance, these shutters on a home that we are currently painting. The previous "painter" left the shutters in place and sprayed them while attached to the home. Not only is this the fast hack way to do it which looks sloppy, it also keeps you (us) from checking behind the shutters for stucco cracks. When I was first sent the pic by a team leader, I had to do a double take because I thought the shutter was still attached. 🤪 Almost every paint company that we know of in the area refuse to remove the shutters prior to paint, leaving you with unpainted surfaces and possibly hidden stucco cracks. Here is proof as to why we do things correctly!

Our Teams finished up this amazing exterior a few weeks ago. We replaced siding, rebuilt window frames, repaired trim, and did general carpentry and prep work prior to painting. This home received one coat of primer and 2 coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select supplied by the awesome crew at Regal Paint Centers / Benjamin Moore- Winter Garden . If you want it done right, hire the right teams for the tasks! We hire the right people so that you can hire the right people! ♾️

BEFORE AND AFTER of a ridiculous builder mistake that no other painter had noticed when painting this home previous to ColorWorx... They had forgotten the trim-band on top of the window. Luckily, we noticed it and corrected it! It's all in the details!
