We are a private, non-profit organization that was founded by Central Floridians dedicated to helping
CIL is a cross-disability service agency with a mission to create opportunities for disability inclusion. It serves individuals with any type of disability of any age residing in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Polk, Hardee, Highlands, and DeSoto counties. CIL has two office locations dedicated to serving the Central Florida region, each of which have specific programs and services available to their surrounding community.

Thank you to WorldOrlando's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) for joining us a couple of weeks ago. The U.S. Department of State offers this exciting program allowing foreign leaders to learn from and build relationships with local agencies. Through this program, we were able to meet with leaders from Indonesia and share best practices around improving accessibility, building alliances and advocates, and disability inclusion.

We are thrilled to share that we were selected to receive a grant through the Older Adults Home Modification Program grant through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This will allow us to expand our reach serving older adults aging in place. We can't wait to get started!
NEW: HUD is awarding more than $3.7 million to help low-income elderly Americans age in place through low-cost, high impact modifications to their homes.
On Saturday, June 22nd, we celebrated Family Fun Day at Barnett Park!
Family Fun Day is our way of celebrating the families we serve through our programs. Many of our staff volunteered to host stations such as bean bag toss, rock-paper-scissors, inflatable bowling, and help with prize drawings.
We also had Star Wars characters patrolling the area and a special visit from Orange County Firefighters to show the kids a fire truck in action!

"What this incident has done to me... I don't do photos on Facebook."
These were Sandra Dixon's first thoughts when we asked to interview her about a positive experience with CIL in May 2024.
Ms. Dixon is diabetic and had a scare as her glucose meter, one that she previously used for 5 years to check her blood sugar levels, broke in early May.
Unable to afford the replacement, and insurance unwilling to cover, Ms. Dixon went 5 days without checking her blood sugar. As a diabetic, that's a major issue and can lead to fatal consequences.
Ms. Dixon was referred to CIL through a friend. Within 24 hours of calling CIL, we sent one of our case managers to find a glucose meter and deliver it to Ms. Dixon.
"Daniella called me... asked me some questions, I answered. The next day she called me back and they came and gave me the meter - which was awesome, because you don't get a response like that. Not even from the doctor's office.
"It was truly a blessing."

Spring Break means one thing around CIL...
Career Camp! 🏕
During Career Camp, we host students who are just beginning their journey from high school to adult life, helping them learn skills to secure jobs after graduation.
On Monday, our students were tasked with a short assignment: stand in front of the class & share your name, hobbies, dream job, and things you want people to know about you.
Public speaking is a skill that many of us use on a daily basis, yet we don't think of it as public speaking.
Our students did a fantastic job sharing their hopes & dreams!
