Meet Kassandra, passionate about many things including music, social and environmental impact.
“Hello! My name is Kassandra Glor and I am a Social Entrepreneurship major at Rollins. I am in SE100 and as a project we had to pick a social enterprise and create a presentation in it. I picked Yara Shea Beauty which focuses on providing hygiene products to young women. I loved this enterprise and felt a calling to choose this one. I worked hard on the presentation and showed it to my class. Later on, I decided to post my presentation to Instagram. I then received a message from the founder and CEO herself! I emailed her my full presentation and scheduled a call with her to discuss it. I was offered an internship and I now make social media posts for the Yara Shea Beauty Instagram! So blessed and excited to continue my social entrepreneurship journey!”
Congratulations to Emma Salerno! Her policy brief on gender-based violence in the artisanal small-scale mining sector in Zambia, written in SE 220 class, was awarded the Lewanzer Lassiter Research Award by the Africa & African American Studies Program. Emma is in her first year of studies at Rollins, and she is majoring in Social Entrepreneurship. Congrats to all other awardees as well!

The challenges and changes the COVID-19 pandemic has brought upon us have left many of us reeling as we struggle to adapt to this new reality.
Join us for a weekend to focus on and practice ways we can all take care of our mental health in our daily lives. We’ll start by engaging in meditative forest bathing and artistic expressions to draw a connection from the physical to the mental. Finish the weekend by assisting animals who have been rescued from neglected and abusive places and find the ways we can both help them – and ourselves.
The deadline to apply is Friday, August 20th, 2021 11:59pm EST!
