We’re ready on this glorious morning to start a brand new year! Thanks so much to our PTA, and to our families for supporting our PTA, who provided a morning treat for us! PTA volunteers also worked SO hard this summer beautifying the school, including making over our teacher lounge and our staff restrooms! We appreciate our school community SO much!

A new school year is here, and we’re thrilled to see you all!

Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning, we can't wait to explore, create and achieve great things together.

We are so proud to share that our recent 5th grade graduate Vivienne went to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama this summer! Viv had an incredible experience.

In her own words:

"My favorite part was the simulated ISS mission where we read lines and flipped switches and did experiments to complete the mission."

"The best thing I learned was working as a team. My team earned the 'outstanding team' badge for our flight suits because we helped and supported each other and we love being funny in a smart way."

"It is a camp where you can just be you, and even if you make a mistake and your rocket explodes, it's ok because you are still learning about rockets."

"There were kids from all over the world in my group, like China and Mexico and California and Connecticut."

"I met a real rocket scientist who worked on the Saturn V rocket missions. He said the whole spacecraft back then didn't have much more computing memory than a musical greeting card".

"Some of the older groups get to do astronaut training in a scuba tank- I want to try that if I can go again someday."

Vivienne, your curiosity, your drive to learn, your spirit of adventure, and your ability to think critically and work collaboratively will take you far in life! Way to go!

During the past school year, the fourth grade classes went on a very special field trip: a river boat adventure down the Mississippi River. Students were invited to enter the Big River Art Contest and draw what inspired them from their experience on the Great Mississippi.

We are so excited to have one of our own students, former fourth grader Audrey Vergara, take home the grand prize for her category!

Congratulations, Audrey!
