And that’s a wrap (pun intended)! One last night to enjoy the glow of the tree before it gets tossed out tomorrow.

We didn’t actually get our tree fully up and decorated this year until late (LATE!) Christmas Day…quite a ‘short’ season for us…to say the least.

We were quite surprised to find out how difficult sourcing a fresh turkey this time of year was!

TIME Magazine publishes their ‘Top Photo of the Year’ each year on New Year’s Eve…so I thought that I would be just like them and publish my favorite photo of the year as well!
 
There is SO much to unpack here…
 
Brain & I recently moved to downtown Stillwater, which necessitated the need for a few new office chairs for my home office.  I had been looking high and low for a few new chairs (well, not really—it was pretty low priority, actually—but more accurately, I was keeping my eye out)…
 
Cut to…one evening my dad and I decided to take a walk down Main Street (just a few blocks down the hill from our new *temporary digs ((this part becomes important to the story later on))…
 
Whilst on our walk, we popped into one of our favorite antique dealers.  And, low and behold, I found a pair of chairs that would work PERFECLY for my office (and they were also INSANELY comfortable).  So naturally, I bought them.  En route to the cashier, I spotted out of the corner of my eye a puppet…and as luck would have it—Christmas was right around the corner and we had yet to get my sister-in-law a gift—and she just LOVES puppets, so I grabbed that as well.  SERENDIPITIOUS, some might say! 
 
When we finished up paying, my dad said ‘I’ll wait here while you go get your car’ (which was parked at my house—because remember, we walked there)…to which I replied, ‘ABSOLUTELY NOT…we can each take a chair and walk them home’.  To which he replied ‘ABSOLUTELY NOT!  That is embarrassing, Jordan!  Someone might see us and laugh’. 
 
I told him that he was being ridiculous and that no one would even notice…but, that if he was so worried about being embarrassed, I would give him something to be embarrassed about…so I made him walk home carrying the chair with the puppet seated in it! 
 
Unfortunately (for me!), we did not encounter anyone on the way back to my place.

If you’re not actively pursuing EVERY opportunity to embarrass your nieces & nephews, what are you even doing?! 😂

We spent the afternoon cheering on our nephew at the Coe vs. Gustavus basketball game. THEY WON!

It has been a BUSY morning at the ‘bakery’!

Christmas this year was Brian’s holiday to work, so we are officially celebrating tomorrow—which meant cookie decorating this morning.

I quickly realized my vision for the cookies was headed south, so I pivoted and went the abstract route…because anything sold as abstract is good…right?!

I doubt the final product will secure me a spot on ‘Christmas Cookie Challenge’ 😂

Merry Christmas, from our new (albeit, temporary) digs in downtown(!) Stillwater.

Brian & I (and the dogs, of course) recently (very recently!) quietly sold our home in a private sale and moved to downtown Stillwater during the interim while we complete our compound.

To say that the last several months have been a whirlwind would be an understatement—so, if you did not get a Christmas card from us this year, it is not because we forgot about you—we just simply did not get around to it (very off brand, I know…).

In any sense—MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Oh! Lastly—if you find yourself downtown in the near future, please reach out! We’d love to grab a drink, a snack, go on a walk (dogs included!), etc.

My dad and I went to the St. Croix Valley Opera’s Christmas performance, ‘Home for the Holidays’ last night…WOW!

What a spectacular show! And the talent! OY VAY! And to know that each performer is either a native or local to Stillwater made it even that more special!

Amazing the amount of talent that hails from our little dot on the map.
