Juneteenth Trail Walk
Check out the educational Juneteenth Trail Walk now through June 25! Historical facts about the holiday are posted along the trail that winds around the pond behind Woodbury City Hall, 8301 Valley Creek Road. Parking is available at City Hall, and you can access the trail just west of the main entrance. Follow the trail to the south to read the facts in chronological order. Enjoy a walk around one of Woodbury's beautiful trails while learning more about Juneteenth. More information is available at woodburymn.gov/Juneteenth

Julia Miller’s Story
Julia Miller, originally from Albania, moved to the United States in 2006 before settling in Woodbury in 2009. Seeking to immerse herself in her new community, Julia joined the Woodbury Community Academy, delving into the city's history and gaining insights into public works and safety operations. Her passion for cultural exchange led her to join the Public Safety Multicultural Advisory Committee, where she provides valuable immigrant perspectives. This committee, composed of dedicated citizens, advises the public safety department, fostering greater understanding of diverse communities. Julia's civic engagement extends to her role on the Economic Development Commission. Her message emphasizes the importance of connecting with neighbors and the transformative power of proactive engagement and relationship-building. Video by swctc.org

Water Treatment Plant and Pipelines Project Open House
Want to learn more about Woodbury's new Water Treatment Plant and Pipelines project? Join us for an open house on Wednesday, May 22 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Woodbury City Hall. Happy Star Wars Day! 🌟 Did you see Obi-Wan Cleanobi out this year? This truck hasn't mastered using the Force yet, so it's using giant sweepers to keep dirt, leaves and grass out of local streams, lakes and wetlands! 🌎

Spring Youth Police Academy is right around the corner! Woodbury's Youth Police Academy is a free program designed to educate students in grades 6-8 about the police department and its day-to-day operations. It's a fun and active introduction to the world of law enforcement! Youth Police Academy takes place Thursdays, April 25 through May 23 from 4-6 p.m. at the HERO Center, 10125 85th Street S, in Cottage Grove. Dinner will be provided at each session and participants will receive a Youth Police Academy sweatshirt. Learn more and sign up at woodburymn.gov/YouthPoliceAcademy

The residential Smart Irrigation Controller Program is now open for the 2024 season! 💦 Through the program, smart controllers are available to Woodbury residents at a discounted price of $35 (retail value of $230). They are EPA-certified to save your home at least 20% of your outdoor water use - and studies conducted by the University of Minnesota have shown these controllers save an average of 49% of outdoor water use for homes in Woodbury! 😮 Learn more and purchase your discounted controller at woodburymn.gov/SmartIrrigation!

Meet Eric, a heavy equipment technician in our Public Works Department! 🔧 Eric walks us through what a year in his life looks like maintaining our heavy vehicles to help maintain our standards and improve efficiency!

With renovation on the horizon, we want to prepare the community for the upcoming construction closure at Central Park! 🏗 Central Park will be open through regular business hours on Sunday, March 31. Beginning April 1, the public will not have access to the entire park area, including the access points through the park to the YMCA and Stonecrest Senior Living walkways. Washington County's R.H. Stafford Library is expected to remain open throughout the duration of the project. Beginning April 1, guests will use a new temporary door on the northwest side of the building to enter the library. Additionally, access to the YMCA will remain available throughout the project's duration. Please be aware that parking may be affected during the project. Summer registration starts THIS WEEK!! 🙌 Register for your favorite recreation programs online beginning this Wednesday, March 13. Walk-in and phone registration begins Friday, March 15.

Construction is expected to begin at Central Park in April! 🏗 Take a look back at the building over the years as we prepare for renovations! Central Park will be open through regular business hours on Sunday, March 31. While the RH Stafford Library and YMCA will remain open throughout the duration of the project, the main park area will not be accessible during construction. Library guests will use a new temporary door to be located on the northwest side of the building to enter the library. Please be aware that parking may be affected during the project. The full facility is anticipated to reopen in fall 2025. We appreciate your patience during construction as we work to enhance this wonderful community asset!

Congrats on your Retirement, K9 Ruby!
Please join Woodbury, MN Police Fire EMS in celebrating K9 Ruby as she prepares for her last patrol shift this Sunday, Dec. 31, before retirement! K9 Ruby has served alongside Officer James Stoffel since 2020 and is crossed-trained in patrol work and narcotic detection. Her claim to fame is being Woodbury’s first female K9. A heartful thanks to the Woodbury Police K9 Fund for their original donation of K9 Ruby and their continued support of our K9 program. We can celebrate our K9s' successes because of your generosity! And a big thank you to K9 Ruby for your service to your partners, the department and our city. We wish you the very best in your retirement adventure! 🐾🏅
