Corner Drug Co
Independent and family owned, Corner Drug has been serving Woodland since 1897
A huge win for independent pharmacy!
Thank you to everyone who contacted your elected officials to pass PBM reform in California. We have scored a major victory against pharmacy middlemen who are destroying our industry.
Hoping for quick action and approval from our Governor.
Urgent: Do you have one minute to help save independent pharmacy?
Through this link you can send a message to your elected officials to ask that they support SB 966 which will be a vital step in regulating PBMs and keeping community pharmacy alive. This bill is being heard TODAY so please don’t wait!
Protect Your Access to Care: Why We Need Your Support Against PBMs | California Pharmacists Association As your pharmacist, I do not discuss how difficult it has become to keep my pharmacy open and continue to provide care to my patients. A huge player in healthcare is the pharmacy benefitsmanagers (PBMs).
Independent pharmacy is at a breaking point across the country.
Every week we hear about more community pharmacies closing with drug costs rising and insurance reimbursements (set by PBMs, barely regulated pharmacy middlemen who handle prescription drug benefits and pocket staggering profits) are steadily dropping. We've been serving as your independent pharmacy for 127 years and are laser focused on remaining a cornerstone (no pun intended) of our community for years to come. But we need your help.
Every time you purchase a supplement, a gift, a toy at our business it helps keep our store running. We now have a staff of over 35 who are dedicated to serving your health needs and work hard every day for your loyalty. We are proud to keep growing our business year after year and want to keep you and your families delighted with our service for generations to come.
Nothing can replace community pharmacy and the work our colleagues in the industry do to serve as your healthcare advocates. We need our community more than ever and always appreciate your support!

Thank you to the The Sacramento Bee for the lovely article about our history, our four generations of family at the store, and the town we love.
Family-owned Corner Drug Co. has helped heal Woodland residents for more than 125 years | The Sacramento Bee Over its 125 years of operation, no doubt thousands of prescriptions for heart ailments were dispensed and delivered by Woodland’s Corner Drug Co. The building also witnessed two hearts fall in love and later continue the family-owned...
It takes a lot to keep a 127 year old family business going and a big part of that is coffee! We love our neighbors at Gallery Coffee Roasters (and special thanks to them for allowing us to use their restroom today while our staff kitchen gets major upgrades!)
🌮 We had one of our favorite traditions this week - Holy Rosary taco day at the drugstore.
Come see us at the Davis, CA Chamber of Commerce Family Fun Fest! 🎉
Friday, August 23rd from 5:30-8:30 we’ll be there so bring the whole family for entertainment, games and more at Civic Center Park.
Welcome a new restaurant to Woodland!
We attended a conference in Nashville recently and tried some of the best hot chicken around so we are excited to see how they stack up.
Join the fun tomorrow at their grand opening. 🔥
Crazy D’s Hot Chicken Woodland Restaurant
We apologize for any inconveniences today, there is sidewalk work being done around the drugstore today. Unfortunately we weren’t notified sufficiently in advance that this was happening (we only saw signs last night) and were unable to prepare. In fact, this morning some of our delivery cars were blocked in by the trucks.
Luckily Main is open and we are always willing to help with curbside or delivery as time allows. According to signage, construction is supposed to last through Saturday.
Like everything that gets thrown at us, we’ll work together to get through it. Thank you for your support!
Excited to support a new restaurant in our town!
We had lunch at Saffron, a new Mediterranean restaurant (on Main next to Sherwin Williams) on their grand opening day. Have you tried them yet? Highly recommend the spicy hummus.
Where are you having dinner this weekend, Woodland?

Here's one from the Archives. Can you guess the year?
They've finally hit our shelves -- the Ice Beanie, as seen on Shark Tank!
The perfect relief on these hot Woodland days, the Ice Beanie is comfortable, reusable and COLD. In stock now at Corner Drug.
Surprise! We’ve been busy behind the scenes on something big. Congratulations to all and here’s to the next 127 years.
“We are proud to uphold the legacy of our historic multigenerational business,” Daniells said. “It’s an honor to have served some of the same families for so many years, as well as reducing barriers to pharmacy access to vulnerable populations. We have many exciting opportunities ahead for our community but our commitment to our core values of efficiency, empathy and service are as strong as ever. Sara and I are excited to have Lisa stay on with us and offer her experience and expertise to our growing team.”

Enjoy our newest display by Soroptimist International of Woodland!
Chartered in 1946, Soroptimist International of Woodland is one of the oldest Soroptimist clubs in Yolo County.
The name Soroptimist was coined from the Latin "soror" meaning "sister", and "optima" meaning "best." Soroptimist, loosely translated, means "best for women." First founded by a group of 80 women in Oakland, Soroptimist is now an organization of more than 100,000 members, with more than 3,000 clubs in 125 countries and territories around the world. Each day throughout the world, Soroptimists continue their work to achieve the "best for women" in every sphere of their lives.
Our owner, Lisa Shelley, is a proud member and we are always happy to support WineFest, their annual gathering and fundraiser.
Our jr intern has arrived for the summer. Main job duties: curate art gallery, chat with staff, eat snacks, other duties as assigned.
Due to the heat wave hitting this week we will be shortening our delivery hours from 9-3 throughout the rest of the week. The safety of our delivery staff is critical and we will still be open in store and for curbside pickup.
Thank you understanding, be safe and have a wonderful holiday. 🥵 🇺🇸
Are you prepared? We can help!
Escaping the valley heat this summer? Don't forget to get those vacation medication refills and travel supplies in before you go. Let us know a few days before your trip so you won't be without vital medications once you hit the road (or sea...or air...)
In many cases we can work with your insurance to get medications filled early or for extended days supplies.
Just launched: better for you - better for our planet because single use plastic is a health care issue!
Our house line of OTC products, Foster & Thrive, is now the only over the counter brand using fully recyclable aluminum bottles. A select number of products are now available in store! These new infinitely recyclable bottles are made of 70% less plastic (caps) and take up less space on the shelf. All while still maintaining the every day low prices you expect at your independent pharmacy.

We are so proud to welcome our own Jeanne into her new role overseeing Guest Experience!
Jeanne has been with us through the pandemic and
we are so glad she found her way to us. A while ago she took over our training program for new clerks and will now be further focused on providing memorable guest experiences in store. From staffing our front end to refining our processes as pickup, Jeanne is already diving into her new role.
What makes the Corner Drug experience unique? Our unwavering commitment to empathy and efficiency.
Congratulations Jeanne.
Are your neighbors loudly celebrating July 4th at 4:00 pm on a Thursday in June?
We've got you and your furry friends covered!
Our famous $1 delivery fee returns (and why that's a great thing for everyone)
Since the pandemic we've experienced unprecedented growth at the corner of First and Main. Our staff has nearly doubled in the last few years and we are fortunate to be able to offer our convenient delivery service to most of Yolo County. As "The Store of Service" we are constantly looking at ways to make the pharmacy experience better which is why we are eager to invest further in our processes and technology.
We've been delivering medication for over 70 years and know that our delivery service offers tremendous value for our patients. We look forward to the days ahead when we can upgrade our fleet (more hybrid and electric cars to further our environmental impact goals), add more patient convenience such as live delivery tracking, automated delivery updates, enhanced driver communication and more.
Starting Aug 1 we will be charging $1 for deliveries, with no additional charges to outside Woodland. What if I told you there is a way to still get your delivery for free? Enroll in our convenient monthly med sync or bubble pack program. Your med sync delivery will always be complimentary!
Exemptions will also be made for our Medical at Home patients.
Did you know that independent pharmacies lose money filling many prescriptions, especially expensive brand named medications?
If an independent pharmacy has ever fought for you, we ask that you fight for us! Urge your elected officials to support SB 966 in California!
Independent pharmacies are getting squeezed. A new state bill may change that. “As pharmacists, we are the weakest link, and everyone is taking advantage of us,” said Bastian, owner of Joe’s Pharmacy.
Welcome back to Main Street, Irma!
Irma comes to us with extensive customer service, management and operations experience, having recently served as the operations manager for the Woodland Opera House. I joke that we’ve become a refuge for artists since the early days of the pandemic but if you can confidently handle running a theatre box office you can handle just about any situation.
We are very honored to bring her experience, confidence and kindness to the corner of First and Main.
When you somehow have six of your pharmacists in the building at once you are required to take a photo.
Say good morning to our virtuosos of verification, our maestros of the MTM, our authorities on analysis…Drs. Almilli, Takhar, Shelley, Shelley, Green and Spitsyn!
Teamwork makes the dream work! Thank you to the California Pharmacists Association for your advocacy for independent pharmacy.
