Cumberland Youth Camp

We are thrilled to announce that Wil Gates has accepted a full time position as Program Director here at Cumberland Youth Camp. He and his wife Ashten will be provided housing and live on property.

He will continue overseeing our Summer Camp program, recruiting campers, counselors and volunteers. He will be available to travel to different churches within the Cumberland Association to support parents, pastors and youth pastors, promote the camp ministry, and bring a taste of camp with our new “Camp Fun 2 Go” program.

On property, he will help serve rental groups, assist with maintenance and landscaping, and work on many more projects to help prepare camp to minister to the many campers that benefit from this year-round ministry.

We are very excited to have Wil join Stan and Pam Coker on the team here at C*C! Our camp is growing and flourishing, and adding Wil to the team Full Time will only help us continue to thrive!

The 2024 Summer Camp season has come and gone, it is the most exciting and memorable feeling.

We are so beyond happy for all the campers that made decisions this summer and we are continuing to be in prayer for each and every one of them!

We are so glad that over 500 campers were able to come to camp this summer and hopefully have an experience that they will never forget!

Thank you so much to all of the volunteers that helped each of the five weeks this summer. We really appreciate all of you!

And a very BIG thank you to our counselors and staff. We had good and crazy times this summer. We made memories and had so much fun doing it. We could not have done it without you!

40 Days Of Prayer

On the first day of our 40 Days of Prayer for the 2024 Summer Camp season, we shared about what was written in Matthew 4.

“Jesus was lead by the Spirit into the wilderness. During this time He was tempted by the devil. After fasting for 40 days & 40 nights and resisting temptations, the devil fled.
God uses 40 days & 40 nights as a time for us to wait and a time for us to listen. This is a time to take a break on the things around you and focus fully on God.
Christ waited and He listened, and finally on Day 41 the devil fled.”

For the past 40 days we have been praying for different things around and about camp, and we have finally reached Day 41.
Camp is beginning, and we will start to see God work in amazing ways, through so many different campers, volunteers, counselors, and staff.

Day 41 is not the end though. From here we move into this time of being surrounded by fellow believers and guided by the Spirit in our lives during the camp season.

Please continue to be in prayer that our campers take everything they hear and learn with them into their lives after camp.

We want to thank you for being apart of this time with us! And remember to continue praying, because God always hears us, we just have to wait and listen for Him!

This past week we had all 14 of our counselors, as well as our Lead Counselor, here at camp for a long week of trainings and team building activities!

We had so much fun getting to know each and every counselor this week and are very excited to watch them grow this summer by leading our campers!

40 Days of Prayer- Day 40

Today, on the last day of our 40 Days of Prayer leading up to camp, we ask that you continue to pray for the camp as a whole.

Starting tomorrow we will have so many campers in and out of our camp for the next month. We ask that you pray for those kids while they are here.

We will also have an amazing group of Staff and Volunteers helping us lead and guide these campers through obstacles of life, games, and activities.

Pray for our 2024 Summer Camp Season as a whole, because we are very excited for the many things to come within this next month!

This summer at C*C instead of having Laser Tag during swim time when the hot summer sun is beaming down, we have moved it to the evening when it is a little more cool! ✨🌙

One night during the week we will have Laser Tag for the girls and another night we will have Laser Tag for the boys.

40 Days of Prayer- Day 39

Today we are praying that God would speak to each and every camper that steps foot on our campus this summer and that at least one would respond to His call.

There are so many children that come to camp and have been coming to camp for so long. There are also so many children that are also brand new to our camp.
For some, this may be the only time in their lives that they hear and see the Love of God.

Please pray for their hearts and their minds as they are getting ready to come to camp and their time being here!

Today we are praying of the Health and Safety of our campers during the summer!

It is very important to us at C*C to make sure that every one of our campers is Healthy and Safe in every aspect of camp!

Our Staff is well trained in all activities and all aspects of handling and guiding the campers during the summer. From being safe on our activities to being well hydrated during those hot summer days. We are here to make sure all campers have the best time at C*C, in the safest and healthiest way!

Today we are praying for long lasting friendships that are made at camp!

Camp is a great place to meet new people and to make those lasting friendships and relationships with people you might only see once a year!

We love to see these friendships blossom and unfold in our campers as they continue to come to camp summer after summer!

Please pray for all of our campers as they meet each other and begin to build these relationships that could last forever!

Today we ask that you pray for all of the new campers that come to camp this summer.

Every year we get so many new campers that have never been to camp before. Whether they are 7 years old and this is the first time they are able to be at camp, or they are 17 years old and they were invited by a friend. We are always so excited to meet these new campers and to watch them grow during their time here at C*C.

Please pray for all of these brand new campers that they will be open to trying new things and open to what the Lord has for them this summer.

Day Camp is a place for our younger campers ages 6-12. From Monday-Thursday 8 am- 4 pm.

Eden is graduating from Welch College this weekend with a Bachelor’s of Science in Secondary Education. She will begin teaching in the fall! Please pray for Eden that she can use what she has learned in her classes for her time at camp!
