One Zero Charlie
One Zero Charlie is a graphic design studio specializing in print and package design. Servicing regi "Good design influences all parts of a business.
It sustains character and honesty in every aspect of the business. Good design, therefore, is very good business indeed." - J. Irwin Miller
One Zero Charlie is a small creative studio providing local, regional, and national clientele with world class graphic design services.
This story begins with dedicated people and the beautiful landscapes we all can call home.
Several years ago, our team created an updated icon with supporting branding elements including business papers and signage for the largest land preservation organization in the state of Illinois.
As the Conservation District approached its 50th year, the One Zero Charlie team was again invited to assist Executive Director Elizabeth Kessler and Wendy Kummerer, the District's Director of Marketing and Education, with the creation of a beautiful keepsake document that will last for generations.
Development of this 50 page perfect-bound book was an enormous undertaking consuming over four months of collaborative effort.
The book is filled with detailed articles and stunning images, most of which were donated by amateur or professional photographers.
Key to the success of the project was Executive Designer James Westwood’s creation of the 50th Anniversary logo as well as his tireless efforts that produced the breathtaking result featured below.
“Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that’s why it’s so complicated.”
~ Paul Rand, 1997
Repositioning a bank's brand as its new owners seek growth following the effects of the Great Recession.
This bank, like many family-owned banks, was unable to weather the storm caused by the 2008 financial downturn.
One Zero Charlie was retained by the bank’s new ownership to reposition the organization, with a focus on winning a larger market share and the increased involvement of high net worth individuals.
In order to retain a link to the past, One Zero Charlie developed a simplified brand identity utilizing a stylized shield borrowed from the bank’s former outdated trademark. In addition, One Zero Charlie coined the bank’s new tagline: “Trust is Earned”.
Over the years, we have learned that great work can only be done for great clients. Based on our experience, with new management in place, the future looks bright for MSB.

JUST SAY NO.
Some of our best work fails to make the cut.
In the normal course of events, our exploratory process yields numerous preliminary concepts that allow us to arrive at a final design solution in order to accurately capture the client’s vision and practical objectives.
Following are a few examples of designs that came in second place or for one reason or another failed to find their way into production.
“In a crowded market place, design may be the most potent tool for differentiating one’s product or service.”

ARE BUSINESS CARDS STILL RELEVANT?
If you doubt the value of business cards, think twice. Elon Musk, Larry Page and Mark Zuckerberg all have business cards. While these men may be high tech revolutionaries, they are also people who understand the value of this tiny piece of low-tech marketing communication.
Cold calling, mass mailings, websites, and social media are useful marketing tools. However, to close the deal and develop a lasting business relationship, face-to-face contact remains critically important.
The exchanging of business cards began in the 17th century. Since then not much has changed. A handsome business card is the most economical way to build an image for your business while providing essential contact information.
Following is a collection of business cards designed by
One Zero Charlie.
