Each year the Mississippi Main Street Association hosts its Annual Awards Luncheon. In addition to celebrating its 40th year, MMSA recognized excellence in downtown revitalization and honored the leaders of our historic downtowns in Mississippi.

We are honored and honestly, dumbfounded, to have received the award for Outstanding Downtown Revitalization Project. We are so grateful that Woodville is being recognized for the growth it is trying to achieve and the positive changes it is trying to make.

Thank you so much to Representative Angela Cockerham who joined us for this special day to not only support Community Grocery, but also support us as women business owners and Woodville as a place she works so hard for. Your support of our small town and the work you do to help us achieve great things is invaluable and so appreciated.

We also have to thank our husbands Wil Seal & Clint McCurley who without their hours upon hours of work, physical labor, crawling through rafters and under buildings, demands, trips to Home Depot, Sherwin Williams, 61 Salvage and beyond, the renovation of Community Grocery would absolutely not have been possible.

So to those of you daydreaming about that flower shop, bakery, coffee shop or ice cream store you’ve always wished Woodville had, it is time. If we can do this, so can you. To have this validation from statewide organizations is the proof in the pudding that your passion for your hometown matters and is worthwhile. We hope some of you will join us on this journey. It is not for the faint of heart, but it is totally worth the ride.

The feasting week of the year has arrived! Due to preparing of said feast, we will not have lunch specials this week, but our regular lunch menu will be available.

At long last….we have received our liquor license and are ready to serve!! It takes almost as long to stock up in MS as it does to obtain the license, so we will begin serving a basic wine and liquor menu this weekend as we gather inventory. Due to MS liquor laws, we will no longer be permitted to allow outside beverages to be brought into the restaurant.
