☀️Summertime, and the livin' is easy🌿

A little easier, at least. We are scaling back to an earlier closing time on Sunday & Monday to give our team a little more time to enjoy the magic and beauty of summer 🥰 These new hours will be in effect for June and we will post an update for Fall/Winter updates in a few months

It takes a lot of people to make Birch Tree run smoothly! We are fortunate to have such an amazing team. Julie is a gem and we are grateful everyday to work alongside her ❤️ Thank you for all you do, Julie!

Today officially marks 2 years since we closed on Birch Tree - but I think it feels more fitting to honor the 10 years that Birch Tree has been in business here in the Canal District!

To acknowledge this significant milestone we want to share some of the memories that make this place so special. If you have a quick anecdote, a lengthy story, or a few words about how our food and space make you feel -- we wanna hear it! We will use this feedback in a series to showcase the various ways in which Birch Tree has had an impact on so many individuals - and, subsequently, the whole community!

It is time for a little re-introduction!

If you don't know us - we are Alexis & Nate and in May of 2022 we bought Birch Tree. Prior to that, we owned & operated both Crust Bakeshop locations (118 Main Street and 1 West Boylston Street) in Worcester (which are still there and will always be a big part of our story ❤️)

We met at Crust and began dating in 2016. We joked that we were ships in the night because Alexis would go into work at 4AM to bake and Nate would work until midnight sometimes as a sous-chef. Our passion for food and Nate's uncanny ability to make Alexis laugh sealed our fate. Now we have these 3 businesses & 2 kids under 5.

Life seemed to start moving so much quicker once we started dating. We dont always get to spend as much time together as we would like - but we really love what we do. Somehow - life began to move *even quicker* over the last two years! Birch Tree has become such an enormous part of our lives, and we are forever grateful to be able to do what we love and know that we get to bring so much joy into other peoples lives as well!

Here's to new beginnings and old memories! Join us, Alexis & Nate, as we continue on this wild journey of bringing our passion to your plates. Welcome to our world of love, laughter, and delicious adventures made from scratch - right here in Worcester!

BirchTree's legacy continues: A tale of two owners, united by their passion for crafting a comfortable environment for every and anyone 💚

Today is the first of May and that marks 2 years since we bought Birch Tree. I cannot believe how much time has passed. It has gone by very quickly! This business has been different than I expected in so many ways. It has taught me so much about myself, others, Worcester, and the significance of budgeting 😅

I have recently started telling people that it is really starting to sink in that we own this business. I think it took me a while for my brain to catch up to reality - or maybe I haven't had much time to take a breath and really grasp what it means to *own* Birch Tree. I think I am finally starting to get there. I think (some of) the fear is being replaced with excitement.

Thank you all for always loving Birch Tree! Thank you for getting Birch Tree through a pandemic, an ownership transition, a ballpark, a Kelley Square Peanut conversion, & so many other obstacles and hiccups! We are so honored to be a part of this magical place. Thank you for everything.

2024 is certainly off to a quick start... How is it already May?! 2024 also marks 10 years of Birch Tree! I think that calls for celebration! We have some fun giveaways, menu specials, merch & more planned for this year! Stay tuned and post below if you have ideas for a monumental (within reason - or not!) 10 Year Birch Anniversary celebration! 🎉 Cheers!

I always find myself staring at this photo when I'm in the dining room. It was already in the space when we bought Birch Tree in May 2022, but I really love this guy. i decided to finally look up a little history - and here is what I found:

The painting is called "Grace" and it is based on a photograph taken in 1918 by Eric Enstrom. Enstrom said, "There was something about the old gentleman's face that immediately impressed me. I saw that he had a kind face...there weren't any harsh lines in it...I wanted to take a picture that would show people that even though they had to do without many things because of the war they still had much to be thankful for."
