Joyas is growing!!!! (Well, hoping to that is 😊)

We’re looking for like minded folks to help us add dinners into the weekly mix and better serve our ever supportive community!! At Joyas we believe in synergy and treating everyone with equal care and hospitality. Teamwork, positive energy and an ability to learn are a must for any position in our group. Usually we say you have to be ok with early mornings but now we’re looking for a few night owls to hang with as we are in the early stages of planning an hour expansion. We are always looking to dial in our services without working our people too much and we need your help… ALL HANDS ON DECK!!
Any of the following sound like you or someone you know?.. Events Coordinator, Hype person, Bartender, Hostess w the mostest? We also may have a larger role available (soon to be created) for an industry seasoned individual, drop us a line we’d love to meet.

Secrets, BLT, and Stuff (Limited Time Only!)

🍔Introducing the Char Siu BLT: A flavor-packed journey that'll make your taste buds do the lettuce wave! 🌊

🔥 has taken the classic BLT and kicked it up a notch with our ultra complicated yet very loosely based on traditional char siu marinade. Get ready for a party in your mouth with tender char siu pork belly, smoky and sweet, sandwiched between crispy fried green tomatoes and two types of lettuce—because we're all about that crunch!😋

🐷 Our char siu marinade is a labor of love, made with unsurprisingly difficult ingredients to source and a secret blend of spices that's been passed down for generations (in this day and age, one year feels like a generation). The pork belly is marinated for longer than makes sense for any restaurant, then smoked while being glazed, and finished with a sear giving it an incredible depth of flavor that leaves you craving just a bit more.

🍅The fried green tomatoes add a delightful tang and texture that perfectly complements the sweet, smoky, savory char siu pork belly. And with two types of lettuce, you'll get a mix of crisp and tender in every bite.

🍞Shokupan? Of course, we make it squishy and yet toasted to a crisp golden brown, lovingly spread with a horseradish spiked mayo to kick you back into reality, we’re not leady to transcend yet!

🧠This sandwich is so simply complex that it'll have you using AI (we used to call it Ask Jeeves) to find out what ingredients you can’t substitute to make it yourself!

Q: What cinema technique do you get when you cross John Woo and cabbage?

A: Slaw-Motion!  After continuous emails, requests, DMs, fist shaking, aggressive body language, passive aggressive conversational inflection, and Facebook Pokes, we have brought you back an updated version of your favorite “Caesar'' salad.  Using techniques and ingredients copped from at least one year of professional cooking in New York City and a series of uncharacteristic “refinements” to suit you our loyal guests, we are happy to give you what you told us you want!

Joya’s Cabbage Salad reminds us of how cooking to accommodate friends can get us in our most creative solutions.  We wonder what Caesar Cardini would have done if dairy, fish, eggs, and lettuce wasn’t available, and he was an introvert who didn’t want to do things tableside? What if Caesar had previously enjoyed the tender and somehow crunchy texture of massaged Red and Taiwanese cabbages reinforced with the brightness of lemon?  What if Caesar wanted to create the unctuous creaminess of an emulsified dressing with Roasted Miso and Tahini instead of cheese.  What if something crunchy was desired in every bite, but bread was MIA so crunchy Quinoa fit the bill?  Maybe some umami was needed, but cheese wasn't an option, so strips of salted kelp and crushed sesame mimicked the texture and nuttiness of parmesan?  We don't know what Caesar would have done, but we like how he used one part of creativity, two parts accommodation, one part ingenuity, and 3 parts desperation  to make the stuff of legends! Hail, Caesar! Come try it on Tuesday! 🥗

CHINO’SQUILES!!

You have asked, and after some delicious R & D chef has delivered! We are excited to serve one of our favorite things to eat between 8am-2pm, a multi textured multilayered multi flavored bowl of nostalgic happiness!

 Have you ever had a love triangle so delicious, it could only be described as a "meal-a-quiles"? Well, look no further! Introducing our brand-new Chilaquiles that's stealing hearts and appetites 

Picture this: freshly fried corn tortillas laying down a crispy foundation that even HGTV would be jealous of. Next, we've got not one, but TWO of chef legendary salsas vying for your affection—salsa verde and salsa rojo. Who will you choose? Plot twist: You don't have to! They co-exist like a culinary Batman and Robin.

We aren’t yolking around with this one, we had to follow the middle path and add an over medium egg to remind us that it's okay to be in the center of things sometimes; just not family arguments.

Sprinkled atop this edible multi textured bowl of nostalgia is cotija, the well seasoned crowd pleaser of well dispersed sprinkling cheeses! To add that tart zing, we're pickling our onions faster than you can pickle a party crowd.

Finally, for the herbivores and herb-i-adores, we've got cilantro fresher than a mint-condition comic book. Don't like cilantro? 🍞🍫 The Choco Chippy Chunk Pound Slice 🍫🍞

What is squarish, chocolatey, soft and fudgy, irrationally tasty, contains impossible amounts of chocolates, has a lb of flavor a slice, goes well with all coffee, and reminds you of all the best memories of midwestern childhoods combined?  We don’t know either but .ella.t calls it the Choco Chippy Chunky Pound Slice ™ .  Is it pound cake?  Is it a pancake?  Could it be put in a pan with a pound of butter to make a pan pound cake?  Should we eat two slices? These questions can be answered after enjoying the limited supply we have today, only at

Testing Tuesdays!

Hey y’all! We are over-Joya’d with the support and kindness you’ve offered us over the last months.  We had no idea how much you want us to be around so we have decided to test the waters and open our doors TOMORROW for the first time!  That is right; we are testing out TUESDAY from 9-2 for all your tantilizing tastes!  While we continue to cross our “t”s we thought it might be time to introduce something tas-tea!  A little secret; we have a full liquor license and love libations with lunch sometimes! In addition to our subtly rolled out beer and spritz list, Our fearless hypeman, has been working hard on introducing some cocktails that play well with the rest of Joya’s offerings. We are introducing a cocktail inspired by some of our favorite flavors!  We certainly love Not Pad Thai, and in the tradition of non-tradition we bring you the lovely Not My Thai Tea.  What is it!?  It is certainly not a Mai Tai, or a Thai Tea, but what can we do but imagine a world where they both came together with a melange of mango, Tea Red Rum, and subtle tropical spice to make it quite nice!  Don’t prefer booze? We can of course make it NA for all to enjoy!  Come try it tomorrow, between 9-2!  As always, EnJoya responsibly!

To better celebrate the occasion we are taking the 5th of July off. That is right, JUST LIKE HOW THIS IS NOT PAD THAI, WE ARE NOT OPEN 7/5. Joya says everyone and their pets deserves a break after all the noise and celebration and we are thus excited to see you again on 7/6 when we will be back to Kati rolling on! tysm! 🐒🙈🙊🐵🙉

Happy Mother’s Day!

Though every day is mother’s day to us, we love making excuses to share the love with all!  We wish for the bestest of days to all the Joya's out there and to everyone else too, because Joya always shares and cares all the good feelings with all of her children and everyone is part of Joya’s family! Thank you all for being the support for our support and showing us how a mother’s love can inspire us to try to do so much!

🐶🤫Joy-a Hash Puppies!🤫🐶

You, the people of Joya’s, have spoken; you like potatoes at all parts of the day!  So went all around, took the ideas of our favorite things and slam dunked them into one cohesive mass (literally!)  Introducing the Joy-a Hash puppies! A well spiced, zesty, portable, crushable, gluten free and available vegan extravaganza of potato flavor that proves that good things can come in all sizes and that there is always one more way to potato.  We are thrilled that you contributed to the naming of these little potato pups and know that like several potato products, once you pop one into your mouth that the fun will certainly not stop; and you certainly can’t have just one :) We are so excited that you keep encouraging us to develop more things that you love; and that you’ve been continuing to support us so furiously that we have broken records three weeks in a row!  We promise to keep getting better and finding new and efficient ways to make your experience one of pure Joy-a! 🥰

Sappy post service appreciation post (we are also closed for Easter)

Worthington/ greater CBUS and beyond, we are continually blown away with your you love and support. It makes us feel all the feels.
On the coattails of another team high fivin’ Kati rollin’ milk chai steamin’ smile generatin’ bangerang-of-a-Saturday-service, not to mention being the first outdoor of the season we are exceptionally felling said feels!
HOWEVER, we will be taking tomorrow off to rest and relax, be with our familias and to perhaps work on some new items to drop upon our favorite peeps to drop delicious items upon 😘 Have fun! We will see you all on Wednesday.

We are very excited for a few of our service friends to be moving, BUT we are very sad to see them go! They both have tremendous shoes to fill (no pressure there 😬) and while no one can actually replace them, that does leave us with more room in the party!!

We are looking for seriously fun people with great attitudes who want to learn with us to join our service and barista team! If you are somebody who has spent their entire life in the industry and think that you would actually like to have a rest-of-the-day, this might be great for you! If you want to be part of a growing restaurant family that is trying their best every day to put a smile on as many faces as possible by utilizing lessons learned from years of trial and error to make the next day a better one and prioritize compassion and treating each other as people, then this might be a good fit for you! 🍔🥦VEGETARIANS UNITE (THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOL) 🥦🍔

HELLO! We are so overwhelmed with all y’alls support!  Ever since we opened our doors we have been ecstatic to earn your continued support and become the little neighborhood cafe that could.  As we continue to grow we also want to be the place that would!  What does that mean?!  It means that we strive to learn more about you all, your dietary preferences, and to accommodate you as best as we can.  We heard that there are a lot of vegetarians in our community and in our pursuit of plant based preparations we have brought two updated fixtures to the all star lineup!

First up: Our Vegetarian Joya’s Breakfast Sandwich, lovingly called the Veg JBS has been bolstered to make it even more satisfying with the addition of a crispy totbrown (think of the best bits of a tater tot and hash brown smooshed together lovingly like when your aunt used to pull your cheek and back it was annoying but now you kinda miss it) and a few carefully placed slices of Inari, a slightly sweet ultra umami deeply marinated tofu skin.  We think of it as our favorite moments under the double arches in the morning with our patented shove-the-hash-brown-in-the-sandwich technique!

We also have by popular request added a vegetarian version of our Joya’s Double Deluxe Burg!  This version is an equally craveable double delicious plant based variant of the smash patties dressed with all the favorite fixins of our New Mexico inspired Green Chile Cheeseburger.  As a refresher that means two no beef patties, veg sauce, lettuce, cheese, hatch chilies, pickles, OKC style onions on a poppy pav (or GF) bun!

We thought it be Seriously Fun and conveniently timed to align our first “official” unofficial daytime adult beverage menu with the first outdoor Worthington farmer’s market of the season.
In addition to all of Joya’s lovingly curated teas and cafe beverages comes a range of “it’s 4 o’clock somewhere” adult bevies (to all be consumed responsibly 🙈🙉🙊). So stop on by and let us pour you some sud “or whatever”!

🎉New Years Re-Solutions!🎉

The Joya’s family is equal parts humbled, dumbfounded, and honored that you all took time out of your lives to surprise us by voting us in and on this list!  In the few months that Joya’s has been open, we have learned so many valuable lessons, made many amazing friends and had the blessing to share so many smiles and great memories with you.  We got so lost in our excitement to improve that we haven’t stopped to thank you for being an integral part of our growth. It makes us blush that you put us around such great company.  While we know we have a lot more to do, we promise to make this year an even bigger and better one and are driven more now than ever to share Joya’s visions and versions of hospitality with you.  We are always a little scared to take chances serving the food that we like eating in broad daylight and even more afraid to show our best dinner party selves but with your continued support, we are going to do our best to create more food and drink memories with y'all. We appreciate every one of you, and you all truly bring us Joy(a)!

Merry Happy Best of Every Good Wish and holidays and Spirits and positive vibes, everyone! Joya’s holiday crew is super grateful for all your support these last few months from when we opened our doors accidentally for the first time to all the wonderful times we get the fortune of seeing your smiling faces! Your presence has always been our favorite present! We definitely slept through our alarms and are going to spend the rest of the day with family and loved ones and can't wait to see you on Wednesday 🐵

🍔The Joyaburger!🍔

Joya’s Burger Blend, Pepperjack, Green Chile, Burg Sauce, LPOKC (GF?! No problem!)

You asked, we tried ignoring you, you asked again, we thought about it for a bit, you asked one more time, we decided 3x is enough! The Joyaburger is (secretly🤐) here! Joya’s visits NM; the Joyaburger begins with Joya’s own garlic buttered potato bun. The lovingly yielding (like when your uncle lets you win at euchre) bread is griddled until it is a wonderous golden brown, then gets a happy schmear of our Special Burger Sauce. While this already is good on its own, unfortunately a burger does not it make.

To define it thusly we follow up with double doses of our special patties. Special how?! Well, they begin their journey as a melange a trois of whole muscle Chuck-Eye, double smoked bacon, and of coarse (not a typo) marrow; the beefiest butter of them all! Some like it ground coarse, some prefer fine; Joya’s prefer both so we don’t end up with a paste kebab. After a few journeys into the grinderverse we form the spherules (yes that is a word) that wait briefly and impatiently (Fast Pass Plus users know) for their sear ride into Griddleville.

Once meat meets metal it is showered in a torrential tearjerker of shaved sweet onion and seasoned thoroughly before the petal (also not a typo) is put to the metal. The burgs then get ultimately smashed like a Nintendo game and start to get comfortable enough to feel to stick around; unfortunately like the Fresh Prince their plans are scraped away and life flipped turned upside down. As they char steam on the onion side they feel pepper jack cheesy, but not before being hit with a spoozle of Joya spiced hatch chili and stacked in a move we call the Alburg-Quirky. The special life of the patties is thus completed with a joyride onto the doped (yes, that is what it is called) buns and lovingly layered with a shingle of hot/sweet pickles and a smattering of chiffonberg (Not Shrettuce!). Finally,the Joya’s team watched enough YouTube videos to find out some sort of way to wrap the burger and slice it in half for maximum convenience or to trick others into thinking you’re sharing. Lettuce enjoy Burgs!

Some folks like to modify their food orders; We at Joya’s like to modify verse formats. Here is a broken limerick:

They not-so-secretly-made-limited-amounts-of-off-menu-food-they-wanted-to-eat at night, even though P&L said it would be a financial fright,

The Joya’s family appreciates all the overwhelming encouragement and support in person and through social media, you all have shown us that it is okay to 🐒 around from time to time and that we can be ourselves here!  As thanks, we are sharing our impulsive secret kitchen specials with you!  The format is simple; we let the kitchen and bev do their thing,  if you see it it is fair game to order, but quantities are limited and sell out regularly! If yall crave it enough, it may earn a spot on the board of Historic Flavorton! Keep your 🙈 peeled for our first releases starting tomorrow!

⏰️🎄THANKFUL FOR YOU! (PS HOLIDAY HOURS THIS WEEK, OPEN SATURDAY 8-2 AND SUNDAY 8~6!) 🎄⏰️

This holiday season, we are super thankful for you!  We have been absolutely elated with the sheer amount of support, patience in line-waiting, amazing communication and feedback, and warmest of conversations you all have given us.  We are learning new things every day and excited to continuously implement improvements and efficiencies to get a smile on your face a little faster and with even more gusto! We also are thankful for our team that accelerated from 4 to 14 faster than the roadrunner! Joya’s team is a group of some of the most determined people that have been working tirelessly,  joyously, and consistently in the wee hours of the morning to ensure we can continue to prepare a joyous experience from beginning to end for you!  We think the Joya’s family deserves all the things and the best start is to take a quick break from service for a few days (11/23-11/25) for our annual Staffsgiving; and time to spend with loved ones!  We will be back in action this Saturday (11/26) for regular hours (8AM-2PM) and on Sunday (11/27) will be open for extended hours (8AM-6PM!) to serve all of Joya’s JBSs, Kati Rolls, NPTs, JFRs, CDC, NCB, NC, Toast Boxes, Supier Krispie Squares and everything in between!  We also have a few NEW treats we will be sharing in celebration of the Worthington Holiday Open House and tree lighting ceremony!  The Joya’s team thanks you for including us to be part of the community and encouraging us to be ourselves along the journey! We are grateful for you and can’t wait to see you again on Saturday!
